The theories I spoke of came from other posters. I'm pretty much in agreement with you. I think there are some assumptions that the three years Fai spent in homeschool was isolation, but that's not how homeschool really works nowadays, and from what I understand especially not in CA.I’m not saying this was the case with Faith, but the kind of “socialization” kids get in school is often negative, and that drives certain types of kids to draw even further into themselves than they already were. Isolation is the only thing that feels safe in those circumstances. But of course humans are still social animals. Luckily technology came along to give us easily accessible, effectively free parasocial relationships with countless strangers. Taking the wrong turn on that path almost always ends badly for the isolator and those close to them.
