Wait this is Shion's roommate? At first I thought it's also another VTuber named Shion. Anybody have an idea of what's happening? This translation seems to be MTL (or just incoherent), so I can't make out what this post is about. Does this perhaps have something to do as to why she hasn't been streaming often lately?

Yeah, that's the one. I watched it months ago so I didn't remember the full context other than that she was quoting someone else. I can see how you could make it pRoBlEmAtIc if you removed everything but the phrase, but if it hasn't bitten her in the ass after all these months I don't think it will now, you'd at least see envytubers go "Why are you following Watson, she's sooooo racist" from time to time.

Kind of OOT, but it's interesting that even when she was streaming in person you can find older clips in which she uses a lower voice and more recent ones where she sounds almost like Amelia. I think she used to say it was because she changed her mic, but I wonder if she was already trying to sound cuter back then.

I mean, I'm from further south than cubandum and that 3k donation I've mentioned earlier is almost 6 months salary for me. It's baffling, sometimes stings a bit, but hey I'm the one that's living in a 3rd world country, I can't really blame the vtuber.

We have people getting canceled because their father said the nigger word decades ago (some Nascar dude). There is no rhyme or reason to stuff like this. Only people who aren't targets yet or people who are currently too big to target.

I don't think anything will come of it. I just consider all of this stuff basically random. There is no reason it won't come back to bite her, just random luck.

It's absolutely DeepL, as it often trips up on its sentence structuring and causes symptoms of repeating phrases next to each other when it's not there.

Obviously, I only know as much as you, but it's pretty safe to assume she's seeking legal counsel against Antis, but her belief that it won't have satisfactory results is either Pessimism, or due to the fact that the Antis haven't encroached upon her personal life beyond nasty online comments. We've seen the likes of Kusunoki Sio lawyer up when Antis started finding her address etc which, assuming the useless police can actually do something, is a pretty serious offense.

I'd like to mention that I'm not a professional Psychologist, but I have a high level of education in the field. Her wording gives off the impression that she is depressed and chronically lonely, but she doesn't appear to be an immediate threat to herself. That, however, is subject to change, and we can only really hope she gets support from those around her, or legal relief that makes her feel better. Mental Health is treated as a taboo in Japan so we may see prolonged absences from her.

I remember having this exact same discussion when Tomoshika's voice changed pitch after she purchased a better mic. It's entirely possible it's just a universal lie streamers make to change their voice, but it's just easier to take it at face value and assume current Ame and current Tomoshika express a voice identical/very similar to their own.

That's a perfectly mature and reasonable attitude, but I don't think most of us believe the world is either resonable or mature. And if it's stings a bit to you, I'm sure there are more than a few people (not only from 3rd world) who are watching that stream and, seething with uncontrollable ire and jealosy. I dunno if they'll make it into something concrete or are too dumb... time will tell I guess.

If they haven't gone after Calli for her old Demondice "nigga" tweets, Watson's gonna be further down their list.

Point to be made is that most of the ENVYtubers/vtweeters that are likely to go this route are either too busy being cows themselves to be taken seriously or are way too busy grandstanding and hurling shit at each other. And deep down they all know these are fucking harmless when actually explored deeper for context anyway.

It would take a real serious YABE moment from a corpo like Calli or Ame (like for example say, actually going on a racist rant onstream and dropping "niggers" with gusto and with a very crunchy 'r') to coalesce negative attention their way from these disparate sources that can bring up old harmless stuff from their old channels/personalities (which would be the least of their problems at that point anyway).
