Ideally, you want a good portion of muscle and fat in healthy amounts. Skinny fat is just a fancy way to say pudgy. It's a thing. Somebody with no muscle and mostly fat.

You can have a shit diet and sedentary lifestyle which makes you flabby without eating to excess to pack on the extra adipose tissue.

“You sometimes turn your internalized fatphobia into an externalized hierarchical rating of bodies,” says person who literally just used the terms “smallfat” and “larger fat” to impose a hierarchical rating of fat bodies. But I’m sure it’s quite all right when you do it, Ash.

“HOW DARE YOU SMALLER-THAN-ME-BUT-STILL-OVERWEIGHT FATS TRY TO CATEGORIZE MY BODY!”

It must really suck to be THE fattest of the fats. You can’t even look at a fellow fat and think, “at least I’m not as fat as that bitch,” like most of other fat gorls do. You’re the maximum, friend, you’re the ceiling. All you have now is the ultrawoke privilege of constantly lecturing and browbeating everyone else in your loving, supportive community, until they admit you’re the most oppressed.

Here’s the thing: I massively sympathize with the morbidly obese. No matter what personal fuck-ups got you there, it isn’t easy to just do a 180 and try to fix yourself. It must seem utterly overwhelming and daunting, and you feel like you don’t even know where to start, or don’t have a strong enough support network to get you through it. Maybe it was the result of trauma in your life and you don’t have the mental tools to untangle that mess, and need professional help.

What I have NO pity for is when people use their situation to try and lord it over everyone else, attempting to win internet argument points with their “oppression.” It really chafes me to see them compare their “oppression” with that of actual oppression, like systemic racism. No one can CHOOSE to be black, and they can’t opt out of it either.

But everyone over 500 lbs. got there because of their own choices, even as a reaction to trauma. If you take up drugs as a reaction to trauma, nobody says, “oh dear, well no WONDER you’re an addict, you had no choice but to start doing drugs!” People will sympathize, but at the end of the day, it’s still your personal responsibility. Nobody put a gun to your head and told you to shoot up, and nobody is putting a gun to your head and telling you to eat an entire pizza and a 2-liter of sugar fizz. You may have started overeating as a child in reaction to trauma, but the minute you reach adulthood and consciously realize that that’s what you’re doing, you need to stop. It’s hard, but it’s still your responsibility.

With a lot of work and dedication (a LOT, let’s be real, it is incredibly difficult), you can leave it behind. If you choose instead to harass everyone around you who dares to be physically smaller, and decide to fix your own self-esteem by pushing others down, you’re on your own.

Responsibility and SocJus are like gasoline and lit matches. That's why thin privilege is a thing. If it's privilege, then it's an innate trait and weight is out of your control. Same reason why every sing FA will say that diets never work. They need to absolve themselves of that responsibility. Need.

April walking in the woods. She's saying she hasn't walked in awhile and that she needs "trail or running shoes to actually enjoy this" (direct quote).
She claims to eat healthy and that the fat is just due to summer swelling. When she shows off her groceries, she has quite a few impulse buys, which isn't exactly surprising. And she has bought pre-made meal preps for her husband, which makes me wonder why isn't she doing them herself ?

“Summer swelling.” Can’t wait for that to give way to “fall fat” and “winter weight.”

I'm sorry, what? I have genuinely never heard of such a thing before. Winter weight I can see the logic in, since there's holidays and the shit weather gets depressing leading to comfort foods.

Summer swelling tho? What kinda fat bullshit is that? Like, what is her fatlogic here?
probably stuffs herself full of ice cream

April is so gross and unsettling. Imagine encountering this sweating ball of fat and hair on your nice walk or jog through the woods, mumbling into her phone and giggling at nothing... *shudder*

Did she at least wipe the sweat away before waddling into the grocery store? Either way, the smell must've been off-putting.

Was the long shot of her silhouette holding the pooper scooper supposed to be artsy?

Her grocery hauls are manic. Just piles of stuff spread out with no logic or order. She jumps all around; "I got this, I got this." "This is 350 calories, this is 290..." without necessarily saying what's actually in the package. She got those "mills" for her husband (she says it like Fat Amy!), he wanted higher calorie meals. "This one's 740... This one caught my eye... For him! It's 920." She was practically choking on her drool. You know hubby won't be getting his hands on any of those.

Love the gunt cam and faux artsy shots at the beginning, lovely. As for the groceries, there’s no way our gorl is eating just fruit and veg and staying so fat, unless of course she’s seriously dipping into hubbys ‘mills’ while no one is looking plus other ‘rewards’ for being a good gorl and going outside.

Minor powerlevel: That Publix looks frighteningly similar to my local Publix when I’m in the US. I can only imagine browsing for couscous when I hear a little giggle and smell the aroma of sweat and dog hair coming closer towards me...
