Didn't find him all that interesting to follow, even with such a storied history as his. Suppose I was waiting for some really heinous shit about him to be revealed, and so it was.

From what I've heard from lawyers? Being institutionalized is worse than going to prison.

Being institutionalized is worse than going to prison for sane people. The reason being getting sent to an institution for the criminally insane is almost always a life sentence, regardless of the severity of the crime itself. Plus, those institutions have more restrictions in place than county jail.

For somebody like Chris, however regular prison would definitely be worse. The point being is that Chris needs somebody to tard wrangle him, which regular prison guards won't do.

People are talking about this like its the end, but really it isn't.

Even if Chris goes to jail he is unlikely to die there. This story will continue for decades, it only ever really ends when Chris dies.

If this was a movie, this is where the credits might roll, arc complete, lesson learned, closure. But this isn't a movie, its real life. The real existential horror comes from realizing that we aren't going to be saved here by an endcard, no "that's all folks!", we will bear witness to the long and painful consequences of Chris' decisions for decades hence. For those who have been following Chris for a decade, there will be no closure from this, the show will go on no matter how much we might wish this was just another movie or book coming to a controlled conclusion.

If this ever goes to trial, Chris's public defender will almost certainly recomend he take a plea deal, and the prosecutor will almost certainly be willing to grant it given his autism and how backed up courts are right now.
Chris will likely spend very little, if any, time in prison.

If he’s even found competent to stand trial it would be amazing. He’s very delusional, a legitimate autist with a long medical history back to childhood, on SSI for his disability and just fucking look at him.

If a DA would even bring an indictment I’d be surprised but if that happens it’s just to use as leverage that makes Chris agree to live in a group home or some shit.

The DA doesn’t really want the flack and BS of trying to prosecute a famous autistic Trans woman for porking his elderly shut-in mother. With any luck this case becomes big enough that the appropriate authorities will realise that locking up "people" like Chris in female prisons is pretty much asking for a disaster, and change the law (or whatever the system behind this is in the US) accordingly to lock Chris up in a male prison. Chris is going to be transported back to Green County, interrogated by Green County detectives, the Green County DA is going to decide what additional charges might be filed depending on what detectives get out of the interrogation, and then Chris will be arraigned and his bail amount set.
