Gonna throw my hat into the ring regarding the idea of an actual splinter forum. I like the concept, and I think it could probably be feasibly done, but I do have some concerns that I'm curious to see what you guys think about.
I feel like the current thread is kinda protected due to it being directly part of the Farms, with the stigma that directly comes with it, and Jersh's refusal to back down to almost anything or anyone. We are essentially a large side-show attraction attached to the rest of the site like a tumor. If a split-off to a standalone VTuber forum were to happen, I'm worried that there would be a decently likely chance it would grow beyond just the Kiwi userbase and start attracting direct attention from the VTuber community at large & 'undesirables' (re: Twitter) in a capacity that
this thread specifically hasn't really ever had to deal with - which, in time,
could eventually lead to a Keffals-esque campaign to try and pressure whatever splinter into going down. We already know that there are a fuckton of retarded VTubers - and even more retarded fans - who would probably actually try and do this. So basically what I'm trying to say is that whoever leads it would have to be insanely strong-willed and determined like our Dear Feeder has been. And that can take balls.
This isn't even mentioning the potential scenario of companies harassing any splinter with DMCAs/takedown notices if people start talking in ways they don't like/'''doxing.''' Like, for example, Phase-Connect already tried to take down a post here once before and seemingly only backed off because of Josh's instant dismissal and refusal to bow down to intimidation, but who's to say that they wouldn't ever try and go after posts again on a splinter forum that could potentially lack that protection/reputation and strong leader? These kinds of things could happen.
