Null needs to start identifying as a woman so Chris will follow his advice without question.
He should identify as Barbra Chandler, just to be extra sure.

This forum and the community at large is definitely not a caretaker, nor is anyone in contact with Chris a caretaker. Chris has no caretaker: he takes care of himself. I help him with things he can't easily do himself that I can do remotely in a little amount of time. Filtering out bullshit emails, responding to legitimate offers, contacting LEO. These are all things I can do when I wake up and before I eat breakfast and not think about until tomorrow morning.
She sees I'm helping and actually bothering to deal with Chris's problems, making her irrelevant, and shit talking her in the process (because quite frankly I have no good things to say about her). She is so petty that she is willing to dismantle a beneficial relationship for Chris out of spite and still acts like a victim in the process. She is actively reading the forum, finding posts I make, digesting them for Chris, and then trying to paint me as negatively as possible to Chris in a very personal way.
It wouldn't even phase me if Chris decides he doesn't want my help. I don't do things for Chris expecting him to appreciate them. It's like with the box of stuff we sent him after the housefire. I wasn't expecting a thank-you. I'm not expecting one now. I am mentally prepared to get told to fuck off because I'm not emotionally invested in being some sort of guardian long term like Anna is. Anna trying to chase me off is purely malicious and entirely directed at me and that's just fucking pitiful.
Null is lucky Chris is gullible. Nobody sane in Chris's shoes would trust the combined efforts of Kiwi Farm, Null, Marvin, etc together after everything that has happened in the past 10 years.
I think the tipping point for most people was Bluespike's shit where he forced Chris to shove a medallion up his ass and that seemed to just be way past the line for most people. Bluespike is clearly a deranged little monkey.
That's an excellent point I didn't consider. However, Bluespike was a very polarizing figure too. I agree with that Bob's death is the clear tipping point. I forgot all about his death oddly enough. The tipping point was Bob's death. That's when the dedicated trolling stopped because Chris was hurting badly. The people who had been trolling Chris for years felt bad for him and decided he deserved to be left alone. The vacuum they left behind was filled with unfunny faggots with uninspired trolling attempts.
Hail Anna, fulla busty butterface, the ween is with thee. Blessed are you amongst enablers and the fruit of your bra.So she truly is the second coming of Barb.
What Bluespike did during the Gulf War is potatoes to what Idea Guy did.I think the tipping point for most people was Bluespike's shit where he forced Chris to shove a medallion up his ass and that seemed to just be way past the line for most people. Bluespike is clearly a deranged little monkey.
This implies the trolling that preceded was funny and inspired. Basically all of the previous trolling had been permutations of the same shit: steal his identity, steal Sonichu, pretend to be a girlfriend, or some combination of these things. The people who had been trolling Chris for years felt bad for him and decided he deserved to be left alone. There is a key difference that you're overlooking (unintentionally or not):This implies the trolling that preceded was funny and inspired. Basically all of the previous trolling had been permutations of the same shit: steal his identity, steal Sonichu, pretend to be a girlfriend, or some combination of these things.
The popular opinions about CWC have evolved a bit around here recently. People generally seem to understand and agree now that manipulating Chris to act like a circus monkey is unfunny and weird. Yet there's still this nostalgia for earlier trolling, despite the fact that it was literally the same exact shit.
Watching people manipulate and antagonize him while artificially constructing an imaginary reality around him for laughs isn't funny. Forcing new content out of him isn't funny. This isn't a new development in the Idea Guy era. It's been true all along.
Stealing Chris' identity was one saga, Liquid. And no, I don't think people agree that manipulating Chris to act goofy is bad, in and of itself. The humor of Chris is weighed against the stakes. This implies the trolling that preceded was funny and inspired. Basically all of the previous trolling had been permutations of the same shit: steal his identity, steal Sonichu, pretend to be a girlfriend, or some combination of these things.

All of that stuff was only discovered by trolling Chris.A common refrain I've seen is "every cherished memory you have of Chris was coerced by early trolls," but that's simply not true. Things like Chris's struggles with Mary Lee Walsh, his bitter one-sided feud with Adam Stackhouse, the future message, Anna's blog account of his best attempts at being a smooth operator before she even formally knew who he was, being banned from various businesses around town, the ups and downs of the early love quest ... basically, all of the stuff he documented in his autobiographical comics ... *that's* the real gold of early CWC.
No, Chris became famous when Clyde Cash turned Chris into a weekly (and sometimes daily) show that everyone would tune into. We discovered his past once he was made famous.Watching Chris attempt to make his way through real life in the real world while dragging along the various delusions and misconceptions he personally developed from his sheltered autistic upbringing is what made him funny originally.
Here's the thing, Chris does funny stuff every day, IRL. We will never hear about this because it never reaches the internet. And when Chris does post stuff online, it's almost always dreadfully boring.Watching people manipulate and antagonize him while artificially constructing an imaginary reality around him for laughs isn't funny. Forcing new content out of him isn't funny. This isn't a new development in the Idea Guy era. It's been true all along.
unless he does some dumb shit like rear end a DAMN SMOKER and curse emmanuel god in the parking lotThe idea that Chris is best when no one is involved is nonsense. Chris is at his most boring when no one is involved.
I think it's more like Chris is at both his best and worst form when he is being left alone. He is incredibly boring, yet at the same time he gave us the most memorable shit. The idea that Chris is best when no one is involved is nonsense. Chris is at his most boring when no one is involved.
Well, to be more precise, Chris does stupid shit IRL all the time. It just doesn't get dragged online without intervention. When Chris is online, his output is boring without someone putting him in an artificial kooky situation to make him react.I think it's more like Chris is at both his best and worst form when he is being left alone. He is incredibly boring, yet at the same time he gave us the most memorable shit.
Because you leave him alone, and he posts some of the most boring shit known to man, with the occasional chuckle-worthy incident, and you think "shit this is so boring I should follow other cows", then you discover that he fucked up massively and hilariously on his own and it's the best thing since he left the internet.
With Chris, you have to pick between long-ass valleys with the occasional amazing Mount Everest incident, or a consistent average height that maybe sometimes reaches a somewhat high peak.
I personally prefer the 1st, because I can follow other cows while Chris is farting around on Twitter, and then catch-up on Chris all at once when he does something really major, like the recent incident where he nuked Hirtes from space.
You're splitting hairs. Jimmy Hill was claiming to be the original creator of Sonichu, and Sonichu was a massive part of Chris's identity at that point. It was a common tactic to hijack or otherwise appropriate Sonichu to get a rise out of Chris. When people weren't taking that route, they were pretending to be Chris's girlfriend, and when they weren't doing THAT they were pretending to steal Chris's girlfriend. If you can't agree that there was a lot of pathetic repetition in trolling from the very beginning then you're being obtuse.Stealing Chris' identity was one saga, Liquid.
I don't know how to respond to this without making it sound like dick-measuring powerleveling, but there were people observing Chris before any of the trolling started. Chris put his comics on Tripod for the world to see and uploaded a handful of weird YouTube videos that gave a small but very funny glimpse into his life. After that, in the early days of the ED article people were slowly uncovering more details about him without too many people directly antagonizing and contacting him. That didn't last long, obviously, and the rest was history from there. But there was a lot to see and laugh about before idiots like Clyde Cash burst onto the scene. All of that stuff was only discovered by trolling Chris.
Yes, trolling brought a ton of attention to Chris and uncovered a ton of stuff that was previously not known about him. But plenty of people knew about Chris before 2008. And some of those people watched the ED article grow and spiral out of control, and watched as he started engaging with ED. There were people going "oh, fuck, this is not going to end well" even back then. No, Chris became famous when Clyde Cash turned Chris into a weekly (and sometimes daily) show that everyone would tune into. We discovered his past once he was made famous.
This is precisely what made early Chris very funny to me. Picture it: it's 2007, someone in an IRC channel you frequent tells you to check out this naive, shitty looking website featuring a naive, shitty looking Sonic fan comic. The website has all of the trappings of lame fan pages from the 90s. It's terribly boring and unoriginal. You don't think it's worth your time, but something seems off, and your friends goad you into continuing to look. Then you come across bits where he's talking about being a furious virgin. You're like, "what??" Then you come across bits where he's railing against the faculty of his community college. And then you get to the bits where he's talking about being forcefully expelled from a McDonalds. You find a video of this portly guy wearing a sports jacket telling children to STAY STRAIGHT. It's all baffling, bizarre, and hilarious.Chris does funny stuff every day, IRL. We will never hear about this because it never reaches the internet. And when Chris does post stuff online, it's almost always dreadfully boring.
Yes, this has always been true. The early episodes were worth skimming through just because they were so bad and cliche, but they were forgettable. It was early internet cringe culture in a basic form. Shit got real when you made it to the sub-episodes, though. Not having an encyclopedic knowledge of Chris's life made it more hilarious in my opinion, because the reader was given the opportunity to read between the lines and divine what was REALLY happening in these situations when the really happened in the real world. Chris always wrote himself as a victim and a hero, but the fantasy was utterly transparent.Y'know how modern Sonichu is just this slice of life bullshit where everyone's happy, and there's no conflict? Yeah, that's how Chris acts when he has no conflict in his life. It's boring and it sucks. Only the spergiest Chris watchers give a shit about any of that. The sub-episodes, where Chris is fighting the jerkops is hilarious because Chris finally has some conflict in his life.
It's not nonsense. Not everyone craved a weekly web show of edgy teenagers tormenting a fat gullible autistic man. A lot of people found the breadcrumbs that Chris willfully volunteered sufficiently entertaining at the start. When things became more intrusive, a lot of people bailed because they found it cruel and gross and creepy. You are looking back on early trolling with rose-tinted glasses. The idea that Chris is best when no one is involved is nonsense. Chris is at his most boring when no one is involved.
Pretending to steal the crowning achievement of a gullible autistic man is hurtful. Pretending to be the girlfriend of a desperate virginal autistic man is hurtful. Call it entertainment all you want. It's always been rotten bullying. All early was not bent on extorting Chris for money or actively hurting him
the shit was over the top and exclusive to the internet, chris could have ignored it (and the prodding that led him to acknowledge it) but he was too dumb not toPretending to steal the crowning achievement of a gullible autistic man is hurtful. I'm not sure how this makes it any better. Chris did not have the mental faculties to realize that a string of random babes on the internet trying to get with him was too good to be true. If he believed it was true, why would he just walk away from it all? Chris also stupidly believed that his beloved Sonichu trademark was at risk. Why would he ignore that?chris could have ignored it (and the prodding that led him to acknowledge it) but he was too dumb not to
You're ignoring the part where it took prodding to get him to realize the existence of and to keep up with this shit.I'm not sure how this makes it any better. People leveraged the things they knew would get Chris to respond. They falsely offered him things that they knew he couldn't refuse. That's exactly why it was cruel.
I'm not trying to be evasive, I just don't understand what you're saying. You're ignoring the part where it took prodding to get him to realize the existence of and to keep up with this shit.
Read it, laugh at it, move on, because denouncing near-decade old Christory really doesn't do anything useful?I'm not trying to be evasive, I just don't understand what you're saying.
