YouTuber Mikayla Raines, founder of Save A Fox, dies by suicide after online harassment - Snark reddit bullies autistic woman to death.

Mikayla Raines, founder of the popular animal rescue organization Save A Fox and a well-known YouTuber, has died by suicide, her husband Ethan Raines confirmed in a heartbreaking video uploaded to the Save A Fox YouTube channel on June 23, 2025.

Mikayla, who was known for her tireless work rescuing and caring for foxes and other exotic animals, had been battling severe mental health conditions including depression, autism, and borderline personality disorder. According to Ethan, despite years of therapy and various medications, she continued to struggle with daily life and emotional regulation.
In his emotional 11-minute statement, Ethan revealed that Mikayla had been the target of a prolonged online harassment campaign. The abuse reportedly came not only from strangers but also from individuals within her personal life and others in the animal rescue community.

“They spread false rumors, and being the sensitive person she was, it deeply affected her,” Ethan said. “She tried for years to push through the pain, but this time it was too much.”

Mikayla is survived by Ethan, their daughter Freya, and the many animals she cared for at Save A Fox’s Minnesota and Florida locations. Ethan has vowed to continue her legacy and the mission of the rescue.

Fans and fellow animal lovers expressed shock and sorrow online, paying tribute to Mikayla’s impact on the rescue community.

Every suicide is a mystery to some degree, but in this case the OF helps explain a lot. Unbalanced and requiring constant validation, she put it all out there so that every perceived slight was an attack on her body and soul. I think I'm gonna go ahead and blame her first for having more of a connection with animals, internet trolls & gooners than with her own family. Next, I'll blame the cuckold husband for letting his wife turn herself out. But then again, manipulative women usually avoid men or other life forms they can't control, so there is that.

The best solution for internet trolling is to assign it a certain expected percentage of online interactions and touch a little grass once in a while. Sometimes it is warranted and you should take the hint, because in this case I'm going to say the OF account was probably the one thing that could have brought in just the right amount of vitriol and humiliation to push an extremely bubbled-up navel-gazer past her limits.

Social media overexposure should be treated like frostbite.

He wasn't just letting her, he was actively participating and encouraging it. He was the one filming her and making jokes about the foxes being erotic. I think it's less of an icuckz situation and more of a mutual fetish. Imo he wasn't controlled, he was getting off on the thought of other men jerking off to his wife. He probably didn't mind the extra money, either.
 
This cuck should surrender the animals. I'm pretty sure as time goes on, they're gonna get neglected because he doesn't strike me as a person that can handle all that shit. I'm sorry for the little girl as well.

Is there anyone to surrender them to? I don’t think traditional rescue places are positioned to receive a bunch of animals that were handled by amateurs and probably more dependent on human interaction than they are used to.

And it isn’t like anyone seems to be offering to help either. Even the haydurs.

I just decided to type in the address of the place and sanctuaries. Most of the areas around her look like cat and dog rescues. There is one non profit organization that looks pretty close to her which is RK acres. But their Facebook page doesn't have much on it. And doesn't look like they would look to taking in jackals, a bobcat, tortoise, 50 something foxes. Those animals are probably fucked, if the husband doesn't decide to take care of them.

Also found it funny saveafox apparantly lists medical care as a service when we've seen more than a few screenshots of her admitting to going directly to a vet after an animal got sick with worms or got hurt from hetting caught in their fence. Or if she was giving medical services why was that fox's gums so fucked up and constantly in pain? Also, the wildlife rehabilitation thing isn't true either. Someone already stated earlier, you aren't supposed to imprint on the animals and allow them to figure out how to forage for their own food and so they can be released.

Subsequently, if anyone wants to see an actual sanctuary where a guy takes can or a plethora of wild animals and eventually releases them and it looks like he knows what he's doing then this video is for you.

Also figured I'd type in the same address and put fur farms to see just how bad these places apparantly are because if she apparantly buying these foxes from said fur farms you'd think they'd be everywhere. All that popped up was this place called Furball Farm Sanctuary which looks like a rescue for just cats.

This is sad, sure she showed her nude body online which may come off a bit lolcowish, but she did a lot of good and she probably used a lot of the profits from OF to fund caring for those animals.

I feel so bad for her daughter, losing her mom at such a young age is going to cause a lot of psychological damage when she gets older.

I hate to power level here, but those Reddit weens have gone too far now and I hope some crazy motherfucker finds them beats their skulls with concrete dildos until they shit their dirty crapped briefs and die!!

Of course it’s fine to laugh at someone and trash talk them on the net, but there are boundaries.

If somebody is gonna get off at a person dying then they’re just as bad as a lolcow, if not then worse.
