I know I’ll get a ton of shit for this but 2016 /pol/ was unironically some of the most fun times I've had online. The fast pace of the board, the hilarity of the GOP primaries such as Jeb!'s antics, the hype around the general, the sheer amount of new memes and OC being produced, the constant dub-checking, people semi-ironically believing in meme magic, etc. IMO The Delegates Dahnald was one of the best memes produced during that era, it was so good that /tv/ copied it a year later in the form of Colbertposting. It's cringy lefties, boomers, and feds. Nothing there is fun anymore.
Of course in the end it was pretty destructive as it irrevocably changed the site and /pol/ essentially became /b/ 2.0 but at least it was destructive fun rather than super serious business like Gamergate was.
