So all things considered, was there anything in the publicly known leaks that would point towards genuine glowie activity? This has been debated for years and yet it doesn't seem like there's any direct involvement.

Definitely shell access and root. Even posted a screenshot of him catting /etc/passwd.

If he got in using the method described (sounds legit) then they can probably patch that one thing but the fact is that the whole site is fucked and now known to be fucked and using ancient unpatched software on every level. It's actually shocking this hadn't happened already.

I remember the glory days, events like the Independence Day War, the Great Meme War, and HWNDU.

Going back further I remember when I was very young and new to the Internet. 4chan was like the boogeyman, a name whispered in the dark corners of other forums.

Am I sad to see it die? No, not really. It's been dying for years now, and it's best days were well behind it.

Still, it's the Internet hits a little different knowing it's not out there anymore. F.
