Also, as an aside, I would like to say that my personal belief of /pol/'s, and to the lesser extent the entire site's, obsession with Reddit comes from all the election tourists who got kicked off of r/the_donald and never quite got over it. I remember there being a degree of animosity with Reddit and tumblr but I don't recall it ever being so commonplace until that happened. Same with the whole "reddit spacing" thing.
Your "belief" shows you never went to 4chan much or ever prior to 2016, because 4chan always had a bone to pick with reddit way before that. Reddit was hated for how they blew up memes into popularity and were given credit for it, even when said memes originated somewhere else like on 4chan. It was also a haven for "tryhard I-fucking-love-science and Marvel movies nerd-normalfag" types, the ones who make being a redditor part of their idenity but think they're above the smelly neckbeards and autists on 4chan. As retarded as it was, the "reddit spacing" meme got as big as it did because breaking up every sentence into a paragraph was more commonplace on reddit than it was on 4chan. And that's not even getting into what an over-moderated faggot-scape reddit has always been.
Reddit was always gay, and for a time, 4chan in all its faggotry didn't want to become that. Too bad that was almost decade ago and now both are shitpiles filled with outright retards, bad actors, terrible over moderating, and astro-turfing.
And you guys need to get some perspecitve on /pol/. The reason /pol/ sucks now is because of how diluted it's been by feds and other interests that need to keep it in check, and that means letting the low-effort shitposting bubble up at the expense of actual discussion. Part of why /pol/'s racism and antisemitism took such a hold is because
aside from being mostly true was because
anons of the time could articulate it, and make it palatable for anyone to understand (memes, infographics) and see that yes, a lot of Jews are involved with bad shit in the world and there are in fact differences between races besides skin color. Nowadays, with so much garbage that stays up on /pol/'s catalog (tangentially off-topic threads, basic bitch questions anyone just browsing can figure out in a few minutes, Trump/MAGA generals where nothing is discussed, doomer posting, and outright libshit/commie bait posting to rile everyone up), the board is practically unusable. Doubly so when tranny jannies have nuke something that is actually newsworthy and could genuine political ramifications (Hunter Biden's laptop, something they tried to quash discussion of twice). The board may as well be /b/ with politics.
