The hacker achieved root access. If it was social engineering, a soyteen would need to be the first person who's found and spoken to Hiroyuki in ten years. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still unaware the website has been hacked.

The legal implications are that your new imageboard will have 4 users who are all moderators and you will be mysteriously spammed to death with CSAM in under a week. Not worth it, imageboards are a dying breed for a reason.
