You're not meant to have an alternative right off the bat, you're meant to migrate to some other place that shares the same structural essence as old4ch (imageboard format, anonymity, not a single theme, non-intrustive moderation). There will never be an alternative that offers you the same volume and intensity as 4chan until enough people pour in their attention and creativity in their day to day engagement.

Seriously think about how 4ch used to be the OUTPUT entity of e-culture (injokes, lingo, references, memes) and how much of a "recipient of outside trash" it has become in the past few years. It no longer "produces". It consumes and reflects. It's dead jimbo.

4chan had essentially been running off emergency dynamos for over a decade prior to Monday's events. What was once a relatively bright & lively hub had dimmed into a dull, red glow.
I think the best example of that was how you kinda couldn't use the site every day, since threads were basically being recycled over and over and over on a weekly basis (at least that's what I noticed on /g/). All of the "easy" stuff had been talked about and nobody really wanted to put in the effort to keep things fresh, because you'd usually get shut down if you tried.

- /fit/ has a number of decent small communities. /fat/ was pretty good and had decent resources for people who wanted to lose weight and occasionally had decent advice and success stories. Powerlifting general & FPH was always a good laugh, some absloute cooked posts in there.
- /vg/ some places where way more popular than others. /ffxiv/ was just constant waifu posting & somehow there was enough retards to make over 4000 different threads of Katawa Shoujo. It was pretty much just waifu posting but the schizo's at least contained themselves. /rwg/, /egg/, /poe/ all good generals with some incredibly helpful anons. /poe/ I would unironically put down as one of the best communities in game, the amount of people that helped me or gave me a hand is just unreal.
- /w/ incredibly slow board but was one of the best places to get high quality wallpapers that you couldn't find anywhere else. This will be a massive loss if it never comes back.
- /g/ while filled with AI garbage now and some really shit areas, the DIY/Home generals had great
- /a/ I hate what this board became. I'm only putting it here because /a/ during christmas is sometimes just incredibly chill and Toradora/Haruhi christmas livestreams will always live on.

I think its appropriate to commemrate this occassion with at least some of the best shitposting memes that I think everyone should watch.

Someone said this earlier I believe, but a large reason for why 4chan became completely unusable is because of schizos and what I presume to be Discord raids, of people that brigade boards 24/7 with the same threads daily for no other reason than to sway whatever narrative they want in their favor. I have never bought anything from a 4chan ad nor done anything to monetarily support the site.
