So did Moot even exist? I've been hearing stories he might not have, and people remember trying to meet him at Google and couldn't find anyone there
I was working at Google at the time. He was in Social on main campus in Mountain View but rarely actually came to the office. I think he usually worked from SF. He didn't do much work - he was a project manager if I remember correctly. Project managers don't really do anything on the best of days and he was on a dead product during a time when the company was in death throes. By the end of 2020 everyone I knew there was gone but it looks like he was stuck there until his stocks fully vested in 2021

I doubt he did anything except come into the office at 11am for free lunch, take the shuttle home to SF after having a free dinner at 5pm, and he would have had time for a 1-hour-and-30-minute coffee walk to Crittenden

/www is just a folder on unixes. Nothing here implies it's NFS/something remote/synced/whatever. The log path also being on /www strongly implies that this indeed is on the disk directly, since nobody stores logs on remote storage (would you write logs to an s3 bucket?)

My assumption was if it ran on multiple front-end nodes, how would it coordinate access to uploads if not via NFS, rsync what have you

You can mount (or softlink, depends how you build your image) to have www to be an NFS instead of a local FS. Usage from the links would suggest this is the case. And for the S3 bucket question, no, as far as I know you cannot mount a bucket via NFS (not without a fuckton of jerryrigging atleast)

If someone wants to write a SUCCINCT, but complete summary that covers the main FAQ, go for it. I would feature it.

Needs to cover:

- Who? (Sharty)
- Why? (/qa/ drama in brief)
- How? (PDF exploit)
- What? (Post a lot of details about what was uncovered, esp. janny details + moderation board + source code + extremely outdated FreeBSD/PHP/Ghostscript)
- What not? (Hacker's explanation he's not going after pass users.)
- For how long? (Find my post about how it might take weeks because they have to reformat and redeploy everything and it's really unclear if anyone on earth knows how to do that at this moment.)
- Alternatives? (If you want to link other boards, do not link ones with lolicon/shotacon. I honestly don't know any off the top of my head but you guys might. You can also link a few KF boards and threads if you want. Also, explicitly state that I do not want to run an imageboard unless gookmoot wants to hire me.)
You're going to need to hold off on it for a while because there's still too much that doesn't line up. How was this exploit only now discovered? Why is this guy only leaking janny stuff but not mod/pass stuff? Does anyone actually know if Hiro/the staff have a plan to bring things up?
There are way too many outliers and nothing seems to be set in stone so it's all just people flinging rumors around.

Bullshit. Everyone knows you have to use Strength on the truck in Vermillion City. If you move it, you'll find /x/ underneath.
is this the claude thread??
sea_of_cerulean .webp

I really love /pw/. There's nowhere else to discuss pro wrestling on the internet that has the same vibe that I enjoy. It's true that 4chan in general has a big problem with overzealous mods who ban you for posting things are are allowed according to the rules, or they'll pick and choose what rules they want to enforce, but the culture of /pw/ felt a little different. I'm sure there's still examples where people got banned from /pw/ when they really should not have been, but it felt like it happened a lot less than other boards I used.

Maybe it's the topic itself that lended itself well to funposting. Everybody's watching the same handful of shows, so there's more than enough space to discuss seriously anything you want to discuss. So with that taken care of, there's joke threads too. Shitposts. Threads saying things like "My mom turned heel on me," "I cut a promo on my boss," just silly stuff like that that makes me laugh when I see it. One time there was a thread "What's the most Grant Morrison match of all time?" And it was a thread that was like a crossover of wrestling and comic book discussion. And I wouldn't like if the entire board was like this, but there's only be a couple of posts like this, and the board just had a really nice atmosphere if you like wrestling and you like laughing.

I miss it. It's WrestleMania week and it's a tough time to not have my /pw/. I missed watching NXT with everybody last night. Thea Hail returned and I know everyone would've been excited. I miss everyone trying to figure out what Rock meant by staring at a rubix cube while wearing a New Japan shirt. I even miss the waifu wars between Iyo and Lyra fans.

At least Tony's not the KWABOTY anymore.

Is there a good way to track traffic from all mentioned chans in allchans.org?
Curious to see where everyone is going, and this would be interesting information to witness.

Does anyone actually know if Hiro/the staff have a plan to bring things up?
Supposedly the plan is viewable in the public mod IRC, and that one screencap summarized the details from there.

Haven't checked myself, though. You or someone else would need to look for it to confirm. The only "official" statement we have is the Xitter saying "it takes time." I guess the mod IRC is the next best place to look.

This reminds me. Years ago, when you posted an image at the exact same time as someone else posted, your images could be swapped. So if you're posting on /sp/, sometimes your image would be porn meant for another board. I forget what the mechanism was for it, but it must have been fixed since I haven't seen it happen in a decade. What a clusterfuck that code must have been to accomplish that (obvious now, but it's always been shit).

the hacker has a unique tripcode on soyjak (that usually does does not allow names). it is quite possible that 4chan is just an old piece of shit nobody bothered hacking because it's so frequently used by trannies.

Has a k alternative ever popped up? It's the only board I really wanna keep using. OperatorChan is not a viable option as they are even more gay then k
