They'd likely kill themselves straight after they realise they can't update their Insta or FB.
That or a sabre-toothed tiger or bear would come and maul the hell out of them. Their idea of 'off-grid' isn't even close to how humans used to live in the stone age. If they truly want to be off grid, they'd need to be prepared for just about everything good old mother nature can throw at them.
EDIT: Let me count just some of the ways.
- WEATHER: If these people were transported to the actual neolithic era, be prepared for storms, droughts, flooding, periods of extreme cold and periods of extreme heat, of which you'd only have nominal protection from. Have fun dying of hypothermia or dehydration, or drowning, or from a myriad of other incidents that nature can bring.
Of course, if you're off-grid, you don't need anything stupid like clothing or houses, what have those things ever done for you?
- ANIMALS: Before humans began making everything else suffer from population decline, our fellow animals had us firmly on the menu. Humans had to fight other wild animals for food, and had to be careful wherever they went because some angry predator could be waiting around the corner to eat them. Have fun being slowly eaten by a cave bear or lion - Since you're off grid, you have no need for stupid man-made weapons.
- DISEASE: This one pretty much speaks for itself. In times as recent as the medieval era, getting something that nowadays can easily be treated with modern medicine such as, say, a broken leg, could quite easily be lethal because of the abundance of deadly diseases and complete lack of antibiotics. If you somehow didn't die before you were 30, there'd be plenty of parasites to make your life miserable. Have fun getting anaemic because worms are infesting your body, or having half your foot melt off because the Madura foot fungus got into an open wound while you were walking around without clothing.
- FOOD (Or lack thereof): You see all those delicious recipes you take for granted every day? Throw them out, the lot of them. In the Neolithic, you'd be much more likely to eat everything raw. Also, you're fucked without a guide on poisonous mushrooms and plants (but since you're off-grid you don't care about that). Have fun being the guinea pig for the rest of your little tribe, every mushroom you find growing being a complete gamble as to whether it's safe or not. Also, have fun being relied on by everyone else to catch them their food, and risking starvation if you can't.
The list goes on and on. TL;DR: These simple-minded parents are so delusional that they have no idea how much of a struggle their life would be if they wanted to truly go fully-natural.
