Idek why (western) twitter artists sperg out about it instead of just getting good.
Japanese twitter seems to just like drawing.
If people feel threatend over AI art because they might lose their resonably unstable job(even prior to AI/Stable Diffusion/Midjourny)
then they didn't liked drawing to begin with.

Drawing is about self discple while making something cool like all types of hobbies that envolve creation or preformence IE. Coding/Sports/Hardware.

Speaking of Japan, I wonder if there'll be laws about AI art there since their copyright laws are notorious for outlawing fair use in general (with some exceptions). I know quite a few Japanese artists have already put disclaimers about not using their art to train models, but then again, how can you prove that a model has used your art especially when a lot of weeb artstyles are so derivative of each other? I don't doubt that the majority of them are against AI art.

Japs are pretty weird with copyright. They say don't post their art too then again its more about respect for the artist then actual egotistical behaviors I've observed from the west.

Far as I’m aware, Japanese IP holders sell temporary/one-time licenses that allow for these kinds of derivative fanworks to be sold. This includes not just fan art/fan comics but also custom models and statues.

I had always wondered how they got away with just openly selling smut comics of insanely mainstream anime characters like that. The fact it's actually pretty illegal is hilarious to me.

It's made a lot of leaps since public release, especially for recreating faces.
But OH NO it's going to infringe on the hard earned money of artists because the untalented can now use a machine to make whatever their heart can desire, except AI is limited...for now.
As a artist myself, I don't see this devastating issue with AI art. I swear the art community has just some of the most pretentious whiners. Not to mention people will always have a stronger affinity for something hand made over items mass produced.

If anything,I feel that payment processors and them twisting the arms of various sites and their ToS is more of an issue for artists than AI but that is me.

As someone who recently got a computer capable of running Stable Diffusion, very easily. Unless you were an idiot and somehow managed to lose your seed, which is very hard to do and involves uploading your image to some image hosting site that scrubs data and then deleting the original, in which case it's a bit harder since you need to know how to use inpainting/img2img which takes a couple of hours to learn.

Having the same picture of a woman with her tits out and her tits covered is just a matter of changing the prompt a bit while keeping the seed.

let me get this straight, the people who are against AI art are afraid that their works will be stolen and no longer original while the whole point of art is to find your own style and be inspired by other artists?

in addition, the people who are against AI art are saying that it'll completely eliminate the need to learn how to draw and is cheapening art by making it "easy to make".

sure, your art may have been used to train the AI but consider this, if you were to eliminate the AI entirely then you'd just be destroying art by making it exclusive and impossible to replicate. why gatekeep art? why gatekeep the only source of culture left. all because you're worried about skynet?

plus AI art is still art itself, those prompts may create art inspired by others but you're still in control of what the AI can output plus you can take said work and as long as you don't have nefairious purposes, reconstitute it in a way that's as original as those who can actually draw and paint and stuff.

and what about those who can't paint and draw and stuff? elitism is crazy af nowadays.

The art shown on her site doesn't seem bad, per se, but it does feel pretty samey. Funny to see the list of clients include stuff like Evanescence (they're still around?). There's no mention of the lolsuit on the blog on her patreon, but that shit hasn't been updated since last June/July with her talking about Roe v. Wade.
Fully expect checkpoints trained on her and the other two women's work to be finalized within the week.
