There wasn't a thread for this and I figured if we could have a watch party thread for Depp v. Heard, we can have one for Jones (even if the trial is almost over).
One of the biggest things that happened during the trial is this, which wasn't included in the highlight video above.
Jones hasn't been charged with perjury at this time and I doubt he will be since I believe you have to do a lot to get charged with it and he seems to just be being an idiot here. I am not a lawyer tho, so I may be wrong. I don't see it happening. It is, however, pretty funny.
Jones does not appear to have been trying to hide the text messages. If he were, he would have reacted immediately to it being shown on screen (unless he really is a giant idiot, which is a possibility). It looks like it is just an example of his team's incompetence (which could actually lead to mistrial). The perjury argument seems to only be being forced by the prosecution in an attempt to sway the jury, and while that may be effective for that purpose, the reality of the situation does not point to him being charged, IMO.
Regardless, this trial has shown Jones is not playing a character and some of his fans have been coping pretty hard with that fantasy. He really is a bumbling conspiracy theorist.
I too enjoy watching political witch hunts of fat loud mouths. I wish he had the ability to force them to exhume the bodies that would be fucking hilarious

This trial is extremely embarrassing for the American legal system and the American political system. Both will celebrate the pre-determined result, but will regret it in time. American citizens will regret it much sooner. The Sandy Hook parents do not look any better for what they've done and they are liars.

A lot, but I don't think there will be a huge change if he loses. He'll find funding and be able to continue. There are people with money that don't buy into the destruction of our rights out of spite.
That's the long and short of it. You might not like Alex Jones and that's fine. He's not perfect and he's a loudmouth. But what is being threatened with this trial and the abject bias against someone that is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty is disgusting. The amounts being tossed around that Jones may have to pay are sick; it's a clear and obvious hit job and it's all fun and games until they do it to you. And they will; there have already been discussions in this trial about ways to apply the precedents and strategies against people that disagree with the correct line of thinking. First and foremost are election challenges. You had better never ever question an election after this trial concludes or they're going to fuck you punitively because you should never question the official line.

It would pay to actually hear how he lies and purges himself. It is a lawsuit and the jurors have no “predetermined” outcome. That is merely you deciding that what he did was so disgusting only a reasonable person could find him disgusting but if you were on the jury you’d ignore the actual evidence and instead have predetermined notions of innocence.
Alex Jones has lied. Repeatedly. He is lying because he has legal liability for his actions and he is beginning to experience legal repercussions.
I’ll give you an example. Let us say you have a daughter and she comes home with her dress torn claiming the neighbor just raped her. You grab your gun and shoot the neighbor. Turns out it was just an aprils fools joke. But now your neighbor is dead. Yes you pulled the trigger but do you think a reasonable person would conclude your daughter actually had a hand in what happened? Obviously.
What we say has repercussions and what we convince people of has repercussions. Especially when you know they are lies and your are trying to get people to act on your lies.
