I just wanted to add that this attachment from the OP was really small and impossible to read, so I found a bigger version on reddit and upscaled it a smidge. Probably not the most useful addition to the thread, but the meme's funny.

Sorry, I had too many memes at the beginning and had to cut one. Calling Kister really chill sort of send me into a comatose state.

Safe edgy YouTube covers The Painter

Expected an insufferable episode, but it was decent enough.

You know, for something hyped up as the  worst analog horror series, it's so boring and forgettable that even now I have trouble recalling even half the murders that took place. Like they say, there's nothing else besides the gore, and if you're not troubled by that then the series has absolutely nothing else to offer you (except maybe hilarity at the absurdity of some of the scenarios).

Really, though, the premise should have just been executed on Twitter or Instagram or something. Somewhere where the focus is on the paintings themselves, the only redeeming quality of this whole thing, with the captions and overarching "story" serving as context / set dressing. Think Trevor Henderson's art. It'd still probably go stale, but in a longer time span, and the whole thing wouldn't have been burdened by the expectations that the term "analog horror" brings nowadays.

That's it. Any other criticism more specific than that is be missing the forest for the trees. Don't understand why people keep talking about it at length when it's shallower than a rain puddle. Must be projection IDK.

UrbanSPOOK episode is killing me. Wendi explaining what a perineum is so he didn't have to say 'taint' and then meat's response to the picture from the taint stabbing murder being to say that "I would have drawn a bunch of bloody keyholes. Because it's almost like he was drunk and he kept missing the right hole" and then Wendi has to process that in silence for a full four seconds before he can respond

Hope this isn't off topic, but didn't know what thread this would be best posted in. The recent smartschoolboy9 ARG debate made me remember an old ARG so I thought I'd look into it again and apparently it's solved now.

Anybody remember Worldcorp? It was a supposed ARG revolving around the then popular genre of music called vaporwave. It caused massive amounts of controversy due to the material used possibly being child abuse material.

In 2015, a YouTube channel was created titled Worldcorp Enterprises. Many of the videos had bizarre imagery with rapping. They ran accounts on every possible website you can think of. They also had their own website that looked like something you would see in web1 days.

The premise was that Worldcorp was a music cult/shadow organization similar to the illuminati and is often compared to Ascensionism Records of Kanyequest fame. It was ran by a mysterious person called the CEO. The lore is somehow tied to pizzagate, I think.

What really got people digging into it were two videos in particular. They did not match any of the other videos created by this project. The videos in question are called worldcorp FATHERHOOD prt 2 and each day i grow some more which featured a man screaming abuse at a little boy in some sort of shower while the boy screams and cries. In each day i grow some more the man is singing the theme song for the children's show Caillou while mocking the kid.

These two videos bothered absolutely everyone looking into this because of how real those videos seemed. The child's cries are very convincing so people speculated that it was stolen footage of real abuse used to make the project seem more creepy.

The ARG investigation eventually became dormant after YouTube terminated the worldcorp channel. Then another similar disturbing video made the rounds on YouTube in 2019, called dreamerheaven. It was very similar to worldcorp's controversial videos, featuring a man screaming at a child crying. ScareTheater covered that clip in a series about weird or disturbing Youtube Videos.

This lead to people claiming that video was ripped from CSAM material found on a defunct onion site called "pedo planet" with the sexual abuse cut from it. This rumor started was started by 4chan anons on the x board with Mutahar of SomeOrdinaryGamers repeating the claims and told ScareTheater he should take the video down.

This brought back everybody's memories of the two infamous Worldcorp clips, and when people revisited their website guess what was there? The dreamerheaven video. It was not uploaded to their YouTube channel, however. This further blew up with people now spreading that they were ripping this stuff from CSAM to use in their project. After that, Worldcorp went full DFE on all their remaining accounts and quickly shut their website down.

Apparently in recent times it's been revealed that it was created by a guy called "Monkey Goblin" from a group called "Autistic Boys Money Clan". It was originally started as a shock site, then it turned into an edgy art project.

The guy says the videos were staged and of him and his brother, so I guess no actual child was harmed? His brother is a good actor, it was convincing. Although he probably should have came out and said that when the controversy was first going down, since cops got involved and were sent to his house.

Strangest part is this somehow ties into Fishtank as the guy behind it is friends with Jet Neptune and apparently has been on Fishtank a few times? Did not expect that link when looking into this.

You can also listen to Worldcorp's music on Youtube:
Some lyrics include:
Put a bullet in every raghead sandman
Of course every towelhead a part of the Taliban
Oh man, don't even get me started on the kikes
Gay faggot fruitcake, greasy-ass dyke
Shitty websites make my dick go up like the climate
Watching these kids struggle for help is priceless
I wanna kill every other race on this planet
That's white power, can't you understand it?
God hates fags and all ass bandits
That's a result of all these bad habits
I got a four year-old daughter who is disabled
And I jerk my dick standing over her cradle

I sent this to OP, but god this series is dog shit

This man is now trying to branch out to Marvel and man its equally shit, like using old timey cartoons but is too lazy to edit out the fucking Boomerang logo (which that channel came out in 2000, decades past when his series takes place)

I am convinced this guy is doing this shit for clout since he isn't even having fun with the source material but soulless trend chasing like with the public domain Winnie the Pooh horror movies

Bit late, but another day another youtuber bitching about Urbanspook.

I dunno, if a series has failed miserably according to these people then clearly they still wouldn't be talking about that said series, at least in
case of Urbanspook, I dunno for Smile Tapes or the Zelda one though.

You are correct. The title of that video is so wrong I can't even consider it as a clickbait. Regardless of the series' quality they did not fail, quite the opposite:

Considering you can easily find a sea of sub 100 views "analog horrors" by just going to r/analoghorror (can recommend if you want to laugh at some of the worst videos imaginable), 100k+ views seems like quite a success.

As someone who watches these videos as a guilty pleasure (to chuckle at what dumb shit they try to sell off as horror) I do find his choice of these 3 pretty funny, because as much as all the jewtubers try to paint UrbanSPOOK as the worst thing ever, I'd argue that the other two are much worse.

Sure, UrbanSPOOK has pretty much no story to speak off. It's just a bunch of (pretty memeable) images with edgy scenarios. However I'd prefer no story to the story of the other two. For reference:

The Smile Tapes: virus makes you turn into the Jerma "WHEN THE IMPOSTOR IS SUS" face. I shit you not, that's the whole story.

smiletapeshim.png

This is the big bad of the series, some virus hivemind or whatever. If you're thinking that you've seen this face elsewhere already, you're correct. It's the "Man in your dreams" creepypasta image, doing the sus face :cringe:

The only thing even worse than this is the ending (I'm going to spoiler it, but I don't recommend you waste your time watching it yourself, it's really dumb): before everyone gets infected, Deus Ex Machina aliens come down from space and magically wipe out the virus :cryblood:

The Macabre Experiment is even worse. In fact it was so dumb, that I didn't even bother going through the whole thing. But the gist is that he takes old well known creepypastas, like Ben Drowned or Suicide Mouse and makes them super fucking gay, by linking all the creepypastas and adding some overarching evil entity, adding all the chiché analog horror effects, and sus faces.

The only thing even worse than this is the ending
I've heard somewhere that the author just gave up and threw something together as an ending. Better than what the Surreal Broadcast got, where the author made a teaser for the finale then 2 years later just said he quits.

Seeing that the r/analoghorror had to make a whole ass rule about people sperging about UrbanSPOOK. It made me realize should I mention that on the Community Happenings thread? It would bring attention to that thread and I think its funny to showcase that on Community Happenings. However the thread is still on Prospering Grounds.

You’re talking about Chip/moneygoblin, but Jet was actually a co-creator.
