Straight shotacon, often abbreviated as "/ss/", is a genre of artwork (usually pornographic) depicting young boys in relationships with adult women. This is a male dominated fetish- it's usually held by gooners who find the idea of women having sex with kids to be degrading, or by manchildren projecting themselves onto the young boy. But what happens when a woman has an interest in straight shota? What sort of a person would she be?
Meet Ang Vondra, arguably the most (in)famous female /ss/ artist. She insist she's not a pedophile- the term "pedophillic" apparently makes her cringe. So if she's not interested in having sex with children, then why does she draws the art that she does? I'll let her answer in her own words.
Alright, so she was abused and this is how she copes. That's really weird, but okay I guess. So that must mean drawing shota porn has kept her from going off the deep end, right?
...right?
Angela Vondra was born on August 8th, 1995. She attended Laguna College of Art and Design in 2015, and like many artists trying to get their start online, she spent much of her time posting art to Tumblr. Her cartoony artstyle would end up garnering a small following.
One of her earliest ventures was a short-lived webcomic titled CandyCola. Her co-author, a woman/pooner using the handle "Ciel Star" (real name Alicia Conger), would be arrested on charges related to child molestation around 2018/2019. According in Ang, Ciel Star groomed and abused her, which is the only insight we have into their relationship behind the scenes. As Ang isn't the most honest person, this should be taken with a grain of salt. They apparently did go to a con together, which is the only evidence of an IRL friendship I could find.
CandyCola would eventually stop updating in 2016, after Ang reportedly escaped an abusive relationship (possibly with Ciel?), suffered unknown health issues, and was forced into homelessness, all in one summer. However, that same summer, Ang would hit her first big break- a job at Cartoon Network, working as a storyboard artist on the show Mighty Magiswords. She apparently managed to do this while homeless.
Mighty Magiswords wrapped up production in 2018 without incident, and Ang would be let go from CN. This is standard in the industry, as animators are hired for individual shows as opposed to working for the studio outright. Ang was credited as a storyboard artist in a single episode, titled "Squideo Games".
Around this time, Ang would begin to document her experiences with DID (multiple personality disorder). If you're at all familiar with how DID gets portrayed on tumblr, then you can already guess that Ang treats her "disorder" as an excuse to act quirky rather than anything debilitating. This is a video of her "switching" between her "alters". (Unfortunately there is no source for this video beyond an old post on 4chan, but it's pretty obviously her)
Ang would begin portraying herself as a pink-haired cartoon character towards the end of 2017, primarily using her new avatar in vent comics. One of these comics was a about being raped. While the identity of the rapist has never been explicitly stated, it's widely speculated to have been Magiswords creator Kyle Carozza. There is no hard evidence to corroborate this, however.
After Magiswords ended, and for the forseeable future, Ang would once again begin to suffer from nebulous health issues. However, she was able to land a brief job working for Vivziepop on Helluva Boss.
Act 2: Callout and Fallout
This is where Ang's story gets murky. The majority of her non-professional accounts from this period have either been de-activated or banned. Very few of her detractor's posts have remained up either, either being lost to time or possibly counter-flagged by Ang and her friends. In fact, the majority of information we have about the callout posts that would change Ang's life comes from a novel length google doc written by Ang herself. Naturally, everything beyond this point should be taken with a grain of salt.
The tl;dr is that in 2019, Ang was drawing Invader Zim porn under the alias "DefectivePaks", and that due to drama in a discord server, a few former friends of hers connected the porn to her name and spread it to a few fandom callout blogs.
This lead to more people looking into her, and in late 2020 people had discovered Ang was also drawing shota porn of characters from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Her accounts got mass reported and banned.
This lead to the Tumblr user Lollipup (real name Holly Meadow Disch), who at one point had liked Ang enough to draw art for her and send her gifts in the mail, to also turn on her and and spread the artwork to Ang's former employers.
After Kyle Carozza confirmed the art was hers via text message, he cut ties with her. Because of this, the prevailing narrative among her defenders is that "Ang was blacklisted from the industry because of Zim artwork."
It's worth noting that, despite her reputation, it's possible that Ang was never actually blacklisted. She found work as a storyboard artist Netflix show called "Saturday Morning All Star Hits", which released in December of 2021. (I tried to archive this link but it broke the page). The callout post that led to Carozza cutting ties was posted in Febuary 2021. I couldn't find any information about how long SMASH took to produce, so the exact timeline of when she had this job remains unclear. It was possibly this job mentioned in the google doc, but again there's nothing concrete.
Humorously, Ang would later claim that the Zim artwork that caused this multi-year clusterfuck was actually posted by one of her alters.
No longer having a career to protect, Ang began to shamelessly draw shota porn. Her artwork centers around a few pairings- Mac and Frankie from Foster's Home, Kate and Aaron from Mitchells vs The Machines, and Ace and Gaz from Ballmasterz being her favorites. I'll include some of her sfw art here.
Her soft artstyle and the relative "wholesomeness" with which she portrayed these taboo relationships garnered her a noticeable fanbase, most of whom came from 4chan's /co/ board. Ang quickly integrated into the "proship" community- a loose group of people who on paper want fiction to be able to explore dark themes without censorship, but in practice spend most of their time defending incest and lolicon porn. Ang's recent controversy and status as "the animator who was fired for drawing weird porn" turned her into a rallying point for all those who wanted the right to publically goon to artwork of children having sex.
This era also marks her first foray into grifting. On September 9th of 2022, at the height of #DropKiwifarms, Ang abruptly decided that she too had been targeted by by those dang dirty kiwis. Not only had we stalked and harassed her, we even drove her from her home and threatened to kill her! In response to our horrible, totally-not-made-up actions, Ang started a fundraiser for herself and made $19,000.
Needless to say, we did no such thing and most of us were more confused than anything. Barely anybody on KF talked about Ang at this point in time- for many of us, this was her very first appearance on our radar. For many more of us, her accusations went completely unnoticed.
Taking cue from her friend and fellow lolcow Laika Albarn, Ang began making claims that she was having a sexual relationship with her older brother. She also claimed to have gotten married to another woman.
These were, in all likelyhood, lies for attention. No spouse has ever been mentioned after this point, and it's unclear if Ang even has a brother to begin with. Eventually, her fanbase on /co/ would begin to comment on her lies and erratic behavior, which culminated in Ang DFE'ing in December of 22 after one user in a thread caller her crazy.
Ang would resurface under a different account a few weeks later, having started a /ss/ themed webcomic titled "Roadbump".
However, the comic would only last for a few months before Ang put it on hold, citing "declining health" and entitled fans.
On March 5th of 2023, Ang would begin to post about god and metaphysics on twitter. While offbrand for her at the time, this would be the first of the many bizarre ramblings that would come to define her later on. Two days later, she would officially cancel Roadbump and delete her twitter entirely, leaving this message where her website used to be.
However, this message would be taken down the next day and replaced with more rambling, this time about aliens. Months later, she would reveal her reason for leaving was because people had been calling her a schizo and supposedly leaked logs from her discord server. I'm not sure if these logs actually exist, as I've never been able to find them.
She would return again on May 4th, with her twitter now being "co-managed" by a user called NaminePuppy.
It was around this time that Ang would start to post about being a "multiple system" again, describing an almost Omori-esque inner world where all her personalities lived.
Mental breakdowns and suicide baiting began to happen frequently around this point, typically centered around her lack of finances, her supposed health issues, and fears of homelessness. Interestingly, she also accused her rapist of sending humiliating recordings of her to her stalkers. Like her discord logs, I've never seen these and personally doubt they exist.
Soon Ang's mental state had deteriorated so badly that one of her alters apparently comitted suicide. By september, all of her alters would follow suit. (GhostArchive was down at the time of me writing this, so some of these links possibly won't work).
Soon, it was Ang herself who was dying. This didn't stop her from grifting another 5k off of sympathetic proshippers.
In October of 2023, the proshipping community began to take Ang's "declining health" very seriously. Soon a narrative had formed: Ang Vondra, former animator for Cartoon Network, was dying- and her death was on the hands of none other than Kyle Carozza and everybody else who had participated in her callout years ago. An angry mob of gooners had formed, intent on ruining the careers of those responsible. NaminePuppy, who apparently now filled the role of Ang's online caretaker, lead the charge by attempting to get Carozza uninvited from a conventioned he'd been scheduled to make an appearance at. Unfortunately, many of the screencaps below were seemingly never archived.
Puppy would eventually suceed, and Carozza's panel at Youmacon was cancelled.
Ang would go silent for a few months, causing many to truly believe she had died. For a while she was held up as a martyr by the proship community- the prime example of what happens when antis go too far.
On Febuary 2nd, 2024, Ang uploaded a video to her youtube channel where she confessed to taking psychedellics. This led to a "spiritual awakening" (although according to Ang, her awakening had already started and the drugs simply completed it), and aliens abducted her soon afterwards. "Good" aliens began contacting her telepathically, revealing to her that she is in fact an alien vessel with the mission of spreading knowledge of "the great awakening. The metaphysical stuff starts around 17:12
For a while after this, Ang abandonded social media in favor of youtube. For the most part her videos consisted of "channeled alien dances", where the aliens would telepathically dance through her. It's notable that she's very physically active for somebody who was supposedly dying a few monthes before. Most of these videos have since been deleted, but I have local archives here.
Some of these videos contained lore about her alien friends. In this one, Ang "channels" her alien boyfriend, who looks suspiciously like a little boy.
Two more notable videos are "Introduction" where Ang talks about "the umbiss" for the first time, and "Meet my Darling Meekie", where Ang reintroduces her old vent comic persona as another one of the aliens.
After a while, Ang would return to her old Baraag account and post even more, often NSFW alien lore. Some of these aliens, like Meekie, are old creations of hers that she's recontextualized. Her art has gotten more and more psychedelic over time.
Act 7: VEEndication?
After all that lunacy, you may be wondering: "What about all the proshippers who claimed Ang was dead?" And the answer is they still hold her up as a martyr. The current cope is that she faked her death to get away from Kyle.
But in July of 2024, probably the biggest plot twist imaginable occured- Kyle Carozza was arrested for posession of CSAM.
This was vindication in the eyes of the proshippers. Sure, maybe Ang wasn't dead and Kyle wasn't a murderer- but he turned out to be a pedophile! So he's even worse than that!
For Ang's part, here's her supposed response. It's worth noting that NaminePuppy still had control over her twitter at this time, so it's possible Ang didn't write this.
She also announced her intent to sue Carozza, for what I'm not sure, but as of yet no lawsuit has materialized. (Unfortunately, this announcement wasn't archived.)
Ang Vondra is many things. A lunatic, a sad case in wasted potential, a pathological liar, a porn addict, and possibly a pedophile. She's also a person with clear mental illness, though most of her "fans" don't seem to see her as such. To the coomers, Ang is just another artist they can goon to. To the proshippers, she's a martyr, a club to beat the antis over the head with. How many of them truly tried to help her beyond throwing money at her? While it certainly isn't the the responsibility of her fans to take care of her, even Puppy- seemingly her closest friend- basically admitted to playing into Ang's delusions instead of trying to get her actual help. Ang herself seems to be aware of this- in the announcement for her most recent GriftFundMe, she called out the community for using her as a prop.
Unfortunately, Ang doesn't seem like she'll change anytime soon. She has returned to twitter, and still posts schizophrenic artwork on her baraag. She seems to have sobered up a bit from her alien obsession, but still adds psychedelic swirls to all her art- according to her, she's physically incapable of NOT adding the swirls. She plans on returning to her Roadbump comic- now titled "The Creator's Trinket" -which will be "unrepentantly horny" and seems to be incorporating all of her alien lore. And, because she seems to be incapable of going six months without grifting, she just managed to raise over 30k to prevent her "imminent homelessness".
So no, I don't think drawing shota porn has helped her very much.

Author's note: The story of Ang Vondra is a long and convoluted one. Having burned through multiple aliases and banned twitter alts, much of her early lore is found only through unarchived screencaps and online hearsay. I've done my best to collect and archive everything I possibly can, but unfortunately there are a few details and screencaps that remain unsourced. If anybody comes across archives that I've missed, let me know and I'll add them. There were a few minor arcs I left out, most notably her brief employment with Vivziepop, as well as the time former KF member James Adam falsely accused Ang of raping him- Ang has already done enough to warrent a thread, I didn't want to pad it by including the delusions of a legoheaded tranny.
