I have to echo that at least he's trying to smile. I can't remember who told him to try to smile on fb, but it's probably for their benefit.
I know this is like saying that I wish money and ponies woudl fall from the sky, but it'd be nice if Chris signed up at a gym like the YMCA. With how little he and Barb get in money, he'd probably get an almost completely free ride from them as far as cost goes. He'd lose weight, get active, and hell... that actually would be a good place to meet people and *gasp* women. There's one in Piedmont that's about 18 minutes from him, so not too far at all.
Of course the interesting thing would be which dressing room he insisted upon using...
There are only a limited number of those type of YMCA scholarships available per year. Chris might qualify based on his income and the fact that he's on SSI, but if he didn't turn in an application early enough, he wouldn't have a chance. (And it's unlikely that he'd make that kind of effort.)
He'd be better off with something like Planet Fitness (if there's one nearby). At $10/per month and no contract, pretty much anyone can afford to go. The joining fee, when there is one, is only $29.00. It would also fit Chris's odd schedule since it's open 24/7.
