I think Kai’s implying that he puts up with people’s shit, especially the Warren’s, because he thinks he deserves it for not “doing better.” It’s like “they hate me too.” Kai tries the hardest out of anyone, but that line, in the face of what Harper and Niko did, betrays a kind of guilt and self-loathing that’s actually pretty sad."Not your fault everyone else hates me."

What does Kai mean here? Either "damn right it's not my fault" or "damn right everyone hates you", neither of which makes sense or is in character.
