Congratulations NY Yankees, you'll have less fans who'll cheer you up.

Remember when Major League Baseball had banners on home run fences and signs on the back of pitchers mounds in all taxpayer paid for stadiums telling us they support B L M ????
American has the attention span of a gold fish. MLB gave millions to BLM so their corrupt leaders could go out and buy multi million dollar mansions…and they tax the crap out of us to pay for these stadiums….so sad.

San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler is no longer going out for the National Anthem until he feels better about the direction of the country.

No I have not forgotten. Kapler has been outspoken with this sort of crap. MLB.com has toned down the amount of B L M nonsense on their site since the evidence of scamming and missing money came down but the Giants are one of a few teams (Seattle also) that still has a B L M page link ( https://archive.md/UAs6K )
Notice also Josh Donaldson is conveniently injured at this time after his "incident". I hope the activist garbage doesn't take over the rest of the season or i'm done.

At this rate, we got to check baseball games from the minor leagues or from elsewhere around the world like Japan.

I quit baseball when the Brewers threw a fit and refused to play a game after Jacob Blake was shot by police.

I quit baseball forever when IIRC Anthony Rizzo went on TV the next day and whined about people (i.e. Republicans) "politicizing" what had happened.

I'm glad to be a Braves fan right now. The season may not be going the way I hoped, but at least I don't have to listen to any politisperging about gun control. The organization knows the fanbase well enough to know that would be a terrible idea.

Also, I'm glad that MLB deadened the ball this year because it has made players like Joey Gallo (aka everything wrong with modern baseball) completely worthless.

Tommy Pham tried to fight with Joc Pederson over... fantasy football. Pham slapped him before yesterday's game during batting practice.

The beef, Pederson said, stems from a fantasy football argument. According to Pederson, Pham accused Pederson of cheating because he was "stashing players on my bench." Pederson said he looked up the rules the league used and he was in the right. Disagreements ensued on a group text for the league, which sources said, includes MLB players from several teams.

Also, Dallas Keuchel has been DFA'd by the White Sox. Looks like one of the tanking teams is going get themselves a former Cy Young winner.

Too bad Manfred doesn't like you after taking you All-Star game last year.

Why doesn't he feel good about the direction of the country? Democrats control the presidency, house and senate and look at how California is a one party state. He's in good hands!

Does the Detroit Tigers wants to be more dumber and loser than the Lions?

On Friday, the National Review reported that the Detroit Tigers would reportedly be donating money from ticket sales to organizations that promote transgender surgeries for children during their “Pride Night” game.

On Wednesday, the Detroit Tigers will host a “Pride Night” game dedicated to celebrating the team’s “Pride community partners, friends, and families” at Comerica Park.

According to a report by Outsports, the team began hosting a “Pride Pack Day” in 2018, originally meant to commemorate the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage and the anniversary of the ruling declaring the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional.

What is new this year is that fans purchasing tickets to the “Pride Night” game will be given the option to support pride organizations that promote transgender identification and transgender surgeries. Notably, several of the organizations the Major League Baseball team will reportedly donate to provide gender transition surgeries to children.

A quick look at the organizations included in the monetary support reveals the organization’s plan and work to provide life-altering, grander transition services to minor children.

The Ruth Ellis Center provides “transition care for transgender youth,” including “gender-affirming surgery” on children. The group’s education and evaluation director told PrideSource in 2021, “There are a lot of barriers — especially for people under 18 — that still exist for accessing puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormones.”

The Trans Sistas of Color Project is run by the Trans Justice Funding Project, a “community-led funding initiative supporting grassroots, trans justice groups run by and for trans people.” The group provides funding to perform “chest reconstruction and/or genital reassignment surgery,” and “transition doulas who support and tend to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of trans people undergoing gender-affirming surgeries.”

Corktown Health is another recipient of support from the events and provides “gender-affirming care” in the form of hormone therapy for gender transitions. The clinic notes explicitly that it “may see patients as young as 16 years old.”

These are just a few examples of the organizations being supported and funded through Wednesday’s ticket sales by the Detroit Tigers. The Major League Baseball team is helping to fund services that will permanently alter minor children’s lives and bodies in their area.
Some still haven't learn their lessons after supporting BLM....

A quick scan of NPB and I found quite a few former Blue Jays. I guess I'll be a fan of the Yomiuri Giants since they have Matt Shoemaker and Shun Yamaguchi. They got Gregory Polanco too and he was on the Jays AAA team during the second half of last season.
The standard of play is probably worse but if you ever go to Japan 100% go to a live game. Watching MLB most of the fans look like they don't want to be there whereas the Japs fucking love it, it's a hell of an experience. My experience was like this vid pretty much, non stop chanting and singing for the entire ~3h game

I wonder if it's also the same for other sports in Japan?

Kind of on this subject, but does anyone have thoughts on the KBO (Korean League)? Apparently they are discussing playing some games in the US in the future.

SEOUL, May 19 (Yonhap) -- Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) Commissioner proposed holding South Korean regular season games in the United States in his meeting with a senior Major League Baseball (MLB) official, the Seoul-based league said Thursday.

The KBO said Heo Koo-youn met with Jim Small, MLB's senior vice president for international affairs, in Heo's Seoul office Wednesday, and the two discussed ways in which the KBO and MLB can strengthen mutual cooperation in helping globalize baseball.

According to the KBO, Heo proposed staging KBO Opening Day games in the United States and also having KBO teams participate in major league spring training action. Heo and Small also discussed staging an exhibition series in South Korea pitting MLB All-Stars against KBO players after this season and holding MLB Opening Day games in South Korea.

At the meeting, Heo and Small also went over preparations for the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC), an international tournament organized by MLB.

South Korea hosted preliminary games at the 2017 WBC. MLB is expected to announce detailed schedules and venues for the 2023 edition in the near future.

Different teams have different traditions. The Yakult Swallows fans use umbrellas as part of their cheers and choreography to root for the team.
