As the game gets closer I get less optimistic. I don't know what it is, just a gut feeling. I've seen too many powerhouse Dodgers teams fail before, wouldn't be surprised if the Blue Jays win the series. That said, I'm still picking the Dodgers.

Stupid to keep Snell in the 6th after he walked the leadoff hitter. Now bases loaded with no outs. Let's see how this goes...
first batter single, Blue Jays lead 3-2
second batter walked, Blue Jays lead 4-2
third batter single, Blue Jays lead 5-2
I'm writing this game off. Blue Jays take the first game, lead the series 1-0.
fourth batter force out to home, 1 out
grand slam lmao, Blue Jays lead 9-2
2-run homer, Blue Jays lead 11-2
inning mercifully over. Dave Roberts is the most mediocre manager of all time.

I did say everyone was underestimating the Blue Jays. Their lineup from top to bottom can all get on base or a big hit when they need to. Snell didn't have his best stuff to begin with, but he was too reliant on trying to make them chase and they weren't, especially with 2 strikes in the count.
Also, Roberts being a faggot after the Dodgers won the NLCS saying they're going to "ruin" baseball by winning again was arrogant bullshit that's backfired on him badly this game.

I was expecting that the Jays would be swept, I’m still keeping expectations low, but if they pull this off and this isn’t just them getting all their hits in one game I’mma be so happy.

I think he's jinxed them completely now. Yoshi and Shohei will have to be untouchable if they want to win this series because Snell and Glasnow will certainly fold against an elite batting lineup like this. We might barely even see Sasaki this series at this rate.

The Jays seem to be a Nationals-like 'team of destiny' but with a crazy batting lineup instead of the billion-dollar rotation.

Yoshi is going to have go 9 innings again lol. Also either the Mariners are extremely good or the Brewers and Phillies suck because Snell who I thought was easily the best pitcher in the post season was getting a tossed around by the Blue Jays while Bryce Miller was nails against them.

Gilbert and Kirby folded under the pressure of those bats. Castillo's weakness is a contact-heavy batting order. Woo has been injured for most of the run and wasn't really 100% (and was also used as a reliever).

Bryce Miller, who was arguably the 'worst' guy in their postseason rotation, just locked the fuck in and found his forting time and time again versus the jams he found himself in, especially when Springer jumped him on the first inning that one game. He seems to be the one bright spot for them as a real resilient big game pitcher.

Snell is a heavy walks guy even in his Cy Young season because his best asset is his off-speeds which he always spots outside. Show him a batting lineup with discipline who are also capable of hitting outside pitches and he's not gonna be as effective. The Brewers offense were just historically bad while the Phillies hitters love to chase which fucked them over against him

The Mariners were very good this year, but It was a lack of strikeouts that killed the Mariners rotation in the ALCS, and was the same thing that killed the Dodgers tonight. Kirby and Castillo were huge strikeout pitchers this year, and there was just none of that happening with the Blue Jays. Their at-bats took forever with endless foul balls that simply ground the really good Mariners rotation down. Miller was largely successful because he somehow got the Jays to ground out a ton. And they also found weaknesses in what had been a solid bullpen for most of the season and the entire ALDS.

And there was no break--their entire lineup was doing this. No easy outs. The Blue Jay side of the innings took forever. The Mariners were quick outs. It was painful to watch, I can't imagine how much it sucked for the pitchers.

The Jay's starting pitchers weren't amazing. They were consistently under pressure during the ALCS, especially during the first couple innings. they would bend, giving up a couple runs early, but wouldn't break, usually getting it together for the middle 3 (like tonight). The Mariners would win when they could get to the Jay's relief with a couple dingers while the M's bullpen held. The Jays would dominate if the Mariners Bullpen weren't perfect. As much as I'd like to blame the worst ball-strike calling I've ever seen (I can't wait for the fucking challenge system), it was terrible in a fair way to both side. It was a close series, and it was that relentless offense that was the deciding factor.

I still think the Dodgers are going to take it, but Toronto is not the pushover the whole world seems to think they are, and at the very least will make them fight for it. They might even take it all if they get a few breaks.

I've always been one of those guys who was worried about Snell and saw him in a different light. Toronto is a horrible match-up for guys like Snell because of how they grind out endless at-bats and also take their walks. Snell likes to think that he's an efficient pitcher but he's simply not. He's a guy who depends on motherfuckers to swing at shit outside of the zone and he's generally been successful because his stuff is pretty great.

I advise everyone to check out Curt Schilling's YouTube channel where he breaks down games. His analysis (unsurprisingly) is brilliant and we all know how based he is, so that's a plus.

Schilling observed that for starters to go deep against a lineup that bats like Toronto does, you have to be prepared to go 140 to 150 pitches, which guys like Snell aren't going to be able to do even on their best days. This is what concerns me. The Dodgers' starting pitchers are going to have to be absolutely lights out and go 7 innings each game for them to have a chance.

Offensively, I expected the Dodgers to have a firm advantage against the Toronto pitching staff...and yet, their bats largely remain cold and asleep. The reason for Ohtani's "boom or bust" results comes down to 1 factor, which is his inability to change his approach.

When he's on, it's spectacular. When he's not, he looks like a minor league hitter up there. During the bases loaded at-bat, you wonder about him not being able to change his approach and just focus on getting solid contact rather than swinging for the fences. This in addition to his pitch recognition issues has clearly been an issue.

Anyways, I'm not confident about the Dodgers being able to win it all without their starting pitchers being at the very top of their game. The bats just aren't waking up. Pages is a fucking liability who should have been dropped to the bench in favor of Alex Call already, but Dave won't do that for who the fuck knows reasons. Edman is clearly not healthy but they have no choice with him. Freeman can't get it done and no one else looks like a threat at the plate each time.

You simply cannot "vibes" your way to a World Series.
