I was very happy that the Cubs gave the Nationals a taste of Thursday's medicine. Also, from now on I'm calling Hoerner Nico Nico Hoerner (like Nico Nico Douga).

That was some really slick infield play out there today. I'll even tip my cap to the other guys for this one:

Dominic Smith with a walk off grand slam
The Royals are lucky that ball didn't make the river.

The Dodgers had a fat nigger bitch attempt to play the trumpet for Edwin Diaz’s entrances in the 9th inning against Arizona.

I say “attempt” because the bitch was fucking terrible and kept fucking up the notes to the song.

Reddit fags were trying desperately to explain how akshually she was in the correct key, scale, whatever the fuck. Thankfully most people were like “lol she sucks”.

I hope that I won’t have to listen to this shit every home game that Diaz appears in.

The Dodgers lineup does seem like an embarrassment of riches. They just seem to have more competent bats than the opposition can keep under control for 9 innings.

I like Shohei’s approach at the plate. He’s only struck out once in 3 games and is taking his walks. I wanted to see further development in his batting. I’ll be keeping a close eye on his strikeout and walk numbers this season.

Can’t wait for the guy to get back on the mound. He’s aiming for the Cy Young this year and while it’s a long shot, I think he has the stuff to do it. Just needs the innings (and run support).

Honestly, I'm just accepting the inevitability of a Dodgers 3peat and a lockout after this season.

All I ask is that my Jays don't regress to complete shit this season, though it'd be the funniest fucking thing if the Jays got beat in the World Series 2 years in a row by the same team, solely off of "Amerikkka Bad!" types seething...

Ohtani's first pitching start of the season:
6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K

I watched the game, he looked really good. Never got in any serious trouble. Just needs to overcome his slow start at the plate but we're only 5 games into the season.

I am now completely sold on ABS, solely off of that game where you could visibly see Bucknor seething over how many of his shitty calls were challenged and overturned.

How the fuck do people like him still get Umpire jobs, especially while Angel Hernandez is in living memory? Do they need to have one really shit Ump at all times?

My friends and I have been doing a home run only fantasy league that has been pretty fun.

Can't wait to see the Brewers win the division then lose in the first round of the playoffs for the millionth time.

Pirates, i gotta ask, what the fuck are you doing making this kind of commitment to a guy that's never played in the majors?

I like the gamble that the Pirates are taking here. If he ends up even being an "above average" to "pretty good" player during the duration of his contract (think of someone like Xander Boegarts during his Red Sox tenure) this the value is certainly good for Pittsburgh, a smaller market team who really needs to take risks like this more than teams like the Dodgers, the New York teams, Toronto, Philadelphia, etc.

Again, it's a gamble, and we're talking about a guy with a single professional season under his belt (and it's not even a case of him having been a college guy) and less than half a dozen games in AAA to his name. Everything I know about him though suggests that he could end up being a franchise player. With his tools he's looking like he could be Pittsburgh's Bobby Witt Jr. at a fraction of the cost if things go right.

First time coaching a t-ball team in a not-US school and despite the very limited experience on both coach and player ends we did real well, main boys team absolutely did a fantastic job

some highlights:
  • high ball headed for left outfield gets caught by shortstop without even settling in the mitt
  • boy on first base steals all the way to home without stopping
  • told the first batter to 'hit what you like, but get on base' and proceeds to knock it out of the park with the ball lost under a parked car
both teams either won their games or drew so we are technically undefeated, next term we move on to softball

Honestly I’m just assuming that, with the almost inevitable lockout re: salary cap and floor, that the Pirates want him locked down just in case that IS the outcome - I’m working under the assumption that existing contracts would be grandfathered in to avoid that entire migrane…
