They kinda-sorta have this already, although they aren't given out by Bluesky admins. It's another user-curated thing, similar to blocklists.I would LOVE to see them implementing things like the pink triangles we use here. Something that symbolizes that they are disruptive or "toxic" because I legitimately think they would not be able to handle it.
Sadly and disturbingly, that is the exact problem with making blocklists that are too specific (i.e. if a blocklist is just for CSAM then you hopefully get what the problem with that is)One man's block list is another man's starter pack. Emphasis on man.
My theory is he is a furfag who dishes it out but can't take it. He wants to prove to the world how woke he is and not a Kiwifarm chud while baiting people, but spergs out when people "harass" him back or start "discourse" about paedo/zoo furries he's pals with. A tonne of furfags have tried this to not end up blocked by their favourite porn artists who are mostly woke leftists. Furaffinity is Turbonium2K (archive) and has a lot of different handles. His Carrd too. Blubfeesh, Turbonium2K, Heavyshell, and Brio Blubfeesh are usernames he uses. That just about says it all. He wants to block people who say interesting/provocative things. These people will be on closed networks they’ve populated with AIs of varying personalities who all agree with them in a few years.
it will find its identity as a non-binary trans lesbian multiple system of color at age 30 like 99% of its userbase"Bluesky has not yet found its distinctive identity or purpose"
Well yeah, I mean, so far its entire identity is based on it being better than Elon's fascist Twitter. It feels like Bluesky has to always compare itself to Twitter rather than be its own thing. Perhaps that's why it hasn't found its identity.
Once people realize how easily weaponized this guilt-by-association bullshit truly is, we are going to see a lot of salt flowing.
thats why they stay online and need more and more insular hugboxes when their old ones fall through instead of just moving on.Then when you go out in the real world and see people not holding the same warped expectation for reality, you're gonna be left feeling pretty alienated.
all of these, when you meet someone on the internet saying "fuck you retard" you think "k" to them that is an unacceptable affront to their image in what is one of the few spaces where they find some acceptance. the end goal is to force the internet to go back to how it was in the 00s when most people only had easy access to left wing sources and the general trend was you can be a shitty person and a complete troll even bringing people to suicide but just not with the racism or bigotry except now you wont be able to be ironically racist like people were then because of a new trump induced paranoia.Who makes these blocklists, and by what metric? Who gets preemptively put on these? Are they serial harassers, or did they have the wrong opinion at some point. Hell, maybe they have the wrong PFP. Or the wrong bio.
its amazing that they dont know the politicking to get randoms labeled as political dissident for clout and petty revenge is a feature and not a bug.Let's see what a quick Google search says about the reaction of Bluesky's most vulnerable users to the potential of block list being weaponized. From the first google result we have this:
There's an overflow of porn there, just not bots.It seems blessedly free of the porn, politics bots and aggressive automated shit.
