Bob Chipman / Robert Lewis Chipman / MovieBob / Game OverThinker - "Coastal Elite Thinker" who wants conservatives, Christians and manual workers eradicated. Universally ignorant; cannot tell reality from sci-fi. Sore loser with short fuse. Odious Disney shill. Tranny chaser and general creep. Fat and diabetic.
How does this violate free speech rights? I'm pretty sure they just want to make sure you're not a fucking problem right out of the gate. The government knowing your twitter doesn't change your ability to speak.
Oh, we're going to slobber over Mike Myers's knob to the point of making what might be the stupidest fucking take on Austin Powers ever conceived, huh?
Interesting thing about this observation: assuming Bob is right (he's not; Austin Powers is not a movie that leans into the drama of its situation; it's a farce first and foremost), this is not a facet of the movie's writing; it's a facet of Myers's performance, and probably a facet of how he was directed. Media literacy, folks.
the moore bond movies are regarded as the point where the ip jumped the shark.
also we should discuss the nuances in austin fucking power for some reason. those movies have aged fucking horribly.
bob you sped pick up a real job
Yeah no shit dumbass, that's how movies work. The man is so fucking pretentious it takes him three paragraphs to describe one of the most basic parts of storytelling I can think of.

Part of the movie's charm is that pretty much everyone takes the story seriously. Austin looks and acts absolutely ridiculous, but he's depicted as a competent spy and is taken seriously by his allies and his enemies.
Yes, comedies are allowed to have characters take the story seriously. Blazing Saddles did it, Airplane did it, and they were better for it. Meanwhile modern movies, even serious ones, don't take the story seriously and are poorer for it. The reason Hot Fuzz is a great cop movie parody is because everyone takes the climax super seriously, despite the absurdity of a small English village being that well armed and the antagonists mostly being a bunch of old British folks, and an ending fight in a miniature town, and the horror of what the council is doing over such a petty thing isn't played for laughs, getting the audience more invested.
Bob really is a failure as a critic if he doesn't understand this.

The advice to actors, "Find the comedy in drama, and the drama in comedy" is so old it probably predates Sophocles adding a third actor to the theatre, but Mr. Evolved has apparently never heard of it.
Putin likely is playing chess. Trump might be playing checkers. Biden would be playing Candy Land. Kamala would be cheering at random dice rolls without actually know what game she'd be playing, if any.
Observation: The Obama Presidential Center looks a lot like the Borg Mothership from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
As to Moviebob's point: Yes, we could have chosen better than Trump these past three election cycles. However, it would have been impossible for you have chosen worse than Fúhrer Hillary in '16, Fuckwit in Chief Biden in '20, and Commie Harris in '24.
"...the government can break down anyone's doors, seize anyone with no due process, put them on a plane, and send them to a foreign jail..."
I'm sure Moviebob's "no bad tactics, only bad TARGETS" credo would apply here. If those doors broken down were of foreign nationals squatting on U.S. land, that would be bad. If the doors broken down were those of MAGA and/or Trump voters (regaldless of party afiliation), then "nothing of value was lost", as per Bob.
Moviebob's fetish for murder (of nearly 250,000,000 people--Trump voters plus the combined populations of Poland and Russia) will always be far stronger than that of all conservatives at the global level.
These eggs can't be "aborted chickens" (or "aborted ostriches"... or "aborted quails"...) because these eggs were never fertilized in the first place. A Thinker™ like Moviebob should know that.

It's so basic I wouldn't even call it a "rule." It's just how storytelling works. "The funny moments are funny, and the serious moments are serious." I don't get what he's so impressed by here. Is it that a comedy movie is able to have stakes? Is it that Austin Powers is a parody movie that's still written like a movie? Because I get that there are bad parody films never let their characters have serious moments or real emotions (Seltzerberg's later films) and maybe comedies that are meant to be 100% farcical, but I've never heard of someone being impressed by a movie conveying very basic tonal consistency.
I haven't watched very many recent Marvel movies, have the "quips" really gotten so bad that people are surprised when films don't undercut every serious moment with a joke?
The problem is, all that "fake" money can be used to buy real goods and services. A bunch of theoretical dollars can be converted into a hoard of gold and silver. So for the system to not fall apart, you need a lot of real resources being produced so that people still have plenty of goods, and the currency doesn't rapidly degrade in value due to sheer volume -- IE, Stagflation. It leads to a "Top Down" economy where the rich live comfortably but everyone else goes broke. Which you see a lot in South America.
I bet. We've pretty much been in a recession for the last two or three years, but the people in power have tried desperately to hide it to maintain their own power, and now the bottom is about to fall out.
I remain cautiously optimistic about the upcoming "declared" recession. I'm hoping it'll mean the appropriate market corrections will finally take place. Most importantly, I hope a lot of ponzi schemes tumble down.

yes, and worse the Marvel Irony has permeated other forms of media.
In the animated show Pantheon, a woman has to tell her dead husband's AI ghost that he needs to fuck off and let her grieve and move on. At the end of what was honestly a kind of touching scene, an rpg dragon flies by and the characters have a "well, that sure was weird moment." You know, rather than just confront the audience with the actual pathos of the scene and let them fully recognize the emotion.
I loathe modern irony, because it is always used to undercut any kind of sincerity in a work.

they're not even "aborted" until they're scrambled/cooked. Assuming they're fertilized, which the vast majority are NOT. Certainly not the ones sold in stores.
Bob at least has enough cognitive dissonance to love his sped niece, sped nephew and normal (?) niece, cuz faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamly. He can't even abide the concept that his own prescriptions for minecrafting the Stupids and MAGAnaiseghoulen in the wastelands would ever be turned against sped niece or sped nephew (or the other niece) and he lashes out violently as if you threatened to stomp a puppy to death in front of him if you ever introduce the concept to his mind, as many twatters found out in the past few years. He goes all Chris Crocker LEAVE Britney MY FAMILY ALOOOOOOOOOOOOONE as if the person trying to get it through his thick as pigshit skull that MAYBE gassing the maga speds in minecraft is a BAD idea because it sets a precedent that COULD THEORETICALLY be used in the future against Sped Niece, is actually threatening to- and going to- minecraft HIS family-speds in reality. He's that fucking stupid, no joke. He can't understand. He will NEVER understand. His alcoholic wetbrain/narcissistic autism is too advanced and won't let him.
It does make a little bit of sense because we know when Bob says "kill the other" he really does mean it.
So when someone else goes, "Bob, you are 'the other' to other people. How would you like them treating your family that way?" he flips out because by his logic that means this person really wants to hurt his family because that's what Bob means when he brings up his favorite targets. If Bob came up to you and asked, "What if you just... stopped living?" he really means he wishes you would die.
Again I bring up the podcast where he talked about "the guts it takes to go up to Stallone and ask to do a sequel to Rocky." Because Bob is a tightly wound bundle of rage who would flip out if anyone offered to do more game overthinkers, so he can't conceive of anybody else being like, "That sounds like a great idea" or even just a simple, "sure, I like money."

No, Bobby is not bothered because Mr. Grizzy is a wrongthinker who doesn't like the zew.

Bobby shills for free. My fellow subhumanoids, stop suggesting The Rat paid him; The Rat are stupid but not that stupid.

This is what Dr. Google showed me when I searched "Snow White 2025"
Prof. Wikipedia says the film made $86.1 million internationally so far, against a budget of $240–270 million. It has no hope of breaking even, especially given it has already opened in Japan. This cements Rachel Zegler's unbroken record as box-office poison.

Some journo from The Atlantic found himself added to the top secret Signal group meant only for the top bananas of The White House, in which they discuss military plans (A&N). Even Trump agrees this is fucked up.

A military administrator can (and SHOULD) secure the communication channels and ban transsexuals from joining the armed forces. That Hegseth fucked up doesn't mean his criticism to the Affirmative Action judge is wrong.

The Armor of God. Don't ask me what Trump has to do with this.
Let me answer the last tweet with another favorite quote from Paul. There are people who excel in spiritual insights -- sights beyond sights -- just as there are people who excel in showmanship and working up a crowd. The church needs both kinds and more. The spiritual should not disparage the sword-swinger for not being "spiritual" enough and therefore the church doesn't need him.

Bob's feckless anger is what keeps me coming back tbh. He's never going to do anything, he's a coward, but he wants to. If Blobby could press a button and all the MAGAgouls died, he would smash it with a hammer.
Bob getting paid by Disney or any studio is frankly unbelievable and I have to side with him but not for any reason he'd like. That would be a worse financial and PR decision than ANY box office bomb Disney has put out in the last 10 years.

I'll say this. Box office numbers doesn't always equal a good or bad movie. The Iron Giant, a personal favorite, was a bomb yet its my favorite animated film of all time, and is beloved today. That said, in this case... yeah Snow White is ass lol.
