I spent a lot of time in a house with no cable or internet and nothing to do but watch Jackass and CKY and Viva La Bam DVDs over and over and over again including all of the deleted scenes and special features and commentary tracks and I have never heard this. I never watched Dr. Phil because Dr. Phil is gay but I watched that dumb celebrity intervention show with Bam and Damon Dash and I feel like it would have come up at some point since they were milking everything they could.

I think you're Phil, trying to distance yourself from your fuckup son. Nice try Phil.

I don’t remember that claim from Bam but he might have said it as he was pretty unhinged there. He looks too much like Phil and Vito to not be a biological Margera.

Yep, I was big into the CKY videos and then Jackass when I was younger, I've seen pretty much everything they've put out (including Viva La Bam and Bam's Unholy Union) and I don't recall them every saying Phil is Bam's stepfather and not his biological father. Its always just been his father. That's always been their relationship dynamic. That and he and Jess just look too much like Phil and his relatives. Unless there's actual proof posted, the stepfather thing is 100% fake news.

I find it funny how they lambast the jackass crew for not doing enough to help Bam get sober, and then turn around and make fun of Steve-O's sobriety. If a tranny somehow made the perfect skit that appeals to Sam's humor, I'd bet you he'd at least consider sucking the gock.

I've barely seen anything from Steve-O in like 8 years besides him showing off how much of a hack comedian he is on that bad friends podcast. I bet he's still yammering about his sobriety while being a trainwreck in other aspects of his life. All I'm saying is I think it's kinda gay to kiss someone's ass that hard just because you like some of their creative work, I bet Sam has memoryholed Bam's Unholy Union to preserve the image he has of the genious behind CKY. The part where they're talking about Bam getting stiffed out of a movie rung especially hollow to me, talking about others fucking him over when the dude is his own worst enemy.

I'm still willing to say that Steve-O, for all his faults, is sober and channelling his innate urge to be an insufferable, obnoxious attention whore into "better" pursuits. People forget that it's Steve-O's antics that were often the most memorable and also the most fucking painful to re-watch on any Jackass compilation in existence. Steve-O was desperate for attention, got it at a relatively young age, clung to the high he got from stardom *and* the excesses that it entailed, and was willing to do anything to keep the gravy train rolling. I'd rather him be an insufferable faggot, sober, and not a possible danger to himself or others than the obnoxious, drug-addled attention whore he was where he'd do insane things to himself just for more money and more attention.

My recollection of the Jackass crew's lives post-MTV are hazy, but I do recall that people did try to help Bam get his shit together after he started spiralling post-Ryan Dunn's death. Ultimately, Bam chose to keep spiralling. Steve-O's a clown, he might have scammed Bam somehow, but these two are both well-acquainted with addictions and the absolute lows they'll plunge you into. That Steve-O managed to climb out and Bam chose to wallow alone speaks to their character. Sam Hyde might just be making Bam look better than he is just to ensure he'd get the collab with Fishtank, or he just never read Bam's Kiwi Farms thread to see what kinda hell he's been inflicting upon himself. Either way, no one is correct and my interpretation is superior.

Look at it as a necessary sacrifice (in his case, anyway). How many people out there could only put down the needle when they found Jesus and go around spreading the "Good News" all day? Being hooked on Jesus is better than heroin, so if Steve-o had to lose his sense of humor to get out of the downward spiral, it's probably a good exchange. Less fun for us watching from the outside, but good for him, as he looks pretty wholesome these days and seems to be geniunely happy.

Don't want to PL too hard but I know a couple of people who knew Steve-O in his early years back when he was still Stephen Glover attending fancy summer camps because his parents were busy jet-setting. From what I've been told it cannot be overstated how deep-seated his thirst for attention has always been, and this is among a cohort of kids who are already tending to act out due to parental deprivation. He was throwing himself off of roofs into dumpsters when he was in elementary school.
