That would annoy the shit out of me tbh, and I can kind of sympathize with Bam on that, but he made that bed himself. He made that deal with Paramount. He probably thought he could stay on the wagon for the 8 or 9 weeks it would normally take to film that movie, but then the COVID bullshit happened, which delayed production.

Jackass was my infancy and the crew has never really done anything horrible towards others to have me losing any respect I have for these guys...except Bam.
Bam legit suffers from Peter Pan syndrome, aka, he refuses to grow up, sure, he matures but he doesnt do so where it really matters.
I really think almost all other Jackass members grew up but kept their cores intact, especially Steve-O. He is still the same guy we all grew up with but with actual reaponsibility and self awareness. Seriously, the most fun I had with him was listening to him talking about past experiences in his youtube channel, like the most expensive shit he destroyed. He is a man that is aware of his past and proud of his present.
Anyway, with that aside, Bam seems to refuse to take the same path. He has to accept that
1- He aint a young skatter anymore
2- There is nothing wrong with that
3- People will love him more for it
I dont think he gets that he should accept he is a father now and he should focus on his wife and son first of all. If he MUST remain at the spotlight somehow, then at least try more wholesome content with his family, maybe teaching his son how to skate? Again, he doesnt have to force himself to be some rad maniac. He just have to be himself and dont attach his self worth on how much people are paying attention to him. He has his life set pretty much, why work towards losing everything?

This makes it obvious how much Paramount didn’t want him on the film. He fucking begged and pleaded, they finally said ok, but here’s what the insurance company says you have to do. They knew Bam would never keep sober, these rules were just a way to provide them with proof because he’d go to extreme lengths to fake being sober and lie like a rug, so they made sure he couldn’t fake it.
If a production really wants an actor on a project they will not require this level of BS and will hire a very expensive “sober coach” to babysit their ass. But Jackass already has to be an insurance nightmare so they don’t need no extra BS from a washed up drunken toddler who isn’t vital to a project that’s not that vital to begin with. (Paramount certainly has easier projects to green light if the bullshit stacks too high on Jackass 4)
Don’t get me wrong, if by some miracle Bam did stay sober and not meltdown they would have let him shoot some scenes. No biggie.
What happened is he failed one of drug tests/didn’t go to a piss test (probably for like the 3rd or 4th time). Cue the “imma gonna kill myself” and “it’s all the fault of the anti-depressants your making me take!!!” and ignore the coke, Xanax and beer. He had fucked up for the last time. He knew they were done with him. He gets desperate and goes out to LA to act like a giant toddler to try to bully his way back into the production “I’m here guys!!! Guys!?!” and when they had to get real with him, and tell him for the 10th he’s really out, no take backs.. he goes live on IG to cry, whine and try to start a boycott of the film.
He’s such a pathetic little man. His name dropping in the second video was so bottom of the barrel desperate it made me wince.

Even as a kid I thought he was a bit much but he was still fun to watch, especially for the other people around him like Dico, Dunn, Vito or his parents. I didn't get as far as idolizing him like a couple of kids at school back then really did, but did own all the VLB stuff.
Bam's responsible for introducing me to a ton of my still favorite bands and probably forming my music taste.
It's weird thinking nothing of Bam these days, but then coming across the Turbonegro Sell Your Body, Clutch Mob Goes Wild or 69 Eyes Devils music videos and going "oh, holy shit, this is a Bam thing." He directed the last two music videos. Sell Your Body was done by Jeff Tremaine. All 3 were extra features on the VLB dvds.
Still pretty thankful for that.
He really did have options he could have worked into once the rich teenaged reckless rebel thing wore out. The music video directing, the Haggard editing. Rodney Mullen and Tony Hawk and others show you don't need to be young or act like it to keep a brand relevance in skating as well. But he chose the drugs and booze.
It's a shame, man.

Yeah, it's annoying, but as you've said, he made the bed himself. It comes with the territory with a dangerous reputation that he made for himself. It's too much of a risk to hire him, especially after this.

Before Dunn’s death, Bam was already trying (and failing) to cope with life in general using drugs and booze. After Dunn auto-deleted himself, there was no deeper Bam could crawl into the bottle, but he gave it a damn good try.
If there’s one thing that Bam really needs to understand, it’s that the shitty things that are happening in his life are 100% his own choice and are 100% reversible. All he has to do is stop blaming everything on everyone else. But he’s never going to do that because he’s never been required to take responsibility for a goddamn thing in his life, and it fucking shows.
Part of growing up and becoming a man is realising that sooner or later you’re going to have to deal with shit you’re not prepared for, and that racking up lines and shotglasses is not the fucking answer.
I have zero sympathy for this pampered, untalented, narcissistic, blame-externalising child in a grown man’s body.

During the original Jackass days, Bam was a major asshole towards Steve-O for some reason. I think Steve-O at least had some professional training in doing stunts.

this is one of the most lolworthy endings to the career of a person who had fcking everything, including the rock star life, met bands from all around the world and had some serious fucking money and he can't even blow into a breathalyser, stay off drinking and stay in a state for the sake of doing a big project like a jackass film before the rest of the cast die from the years of harmful shit to their bodies. Lmao what a sped. I hope we get some fucking great content when he OD's in a bar in some shitty city.
I could potentially see some great shit happening when the film comes out, a few beatdowns from acting like a kid at bars and some messy fucking livestreams and videos. Kind of feel sorry for his mum and dad who always seemed alright, at least they had a son who is actually doing better for himself when bam eventually goes missing in the sewers

as it has been mentioned previously in the thread about it attitude and him being a dick not on film,a company I did work for, who did security at pubs and events had a horrible experience with Bam while he was in the UK in the early 00's. He would hire this little jew crew of barely out of teen security who would attempt to bull around, and keep away people while he was drinking, they all had these little paper "jew star" name tags. The company at the event, I don't think they were working directly for him, supposedly refused to work with anything he needed and went so far as to make a warning to him about fucking about and doing stupid shit. I don't know how true this is as its way before my time, but he was noted as one of the worst famous people to work with, along with a few other notorious celebs you would expect. I've heard a few other stories about similar incidences from security overseas in Norway and Finland that have had bad experiences with him and literally HIM.
I've met Valo too, and it shocks me how opposit Ville Valo is to Bam. He is arrogant and a bit of a cunt, but he is Finnish. I would say opposites attract, but that's supposed to be for lovers.
