Because sexualizing men, especially (like a good fangirl) making them gay for each other, is permissible. If you'd do that with two women Wu would go ballistic.

Wait no, Wu wouldn't, sexualizing lesbians is actually a-ok. Or is it? You just can never tell. Let's ask... myself? I guess.

In the last episode of John v. John...

And now for the todays episode!

"Foreshadowing" implies a future to be anticipated, John, so unless that mask thing is made of Oreos, I got nothing.

Makes complete sense: This is Wu foreshadowing that she will buy a venetian carnival mask, however, each time she said "Rev 60 will be released very soon" it was the literary technique known as "a red herring".
Wu seems completely unable to say no to people inviting her to things.
...well, it's not like she has anything better to do...

...wait.

Wu actually had a point to make regarding posting an opinion with a large amount of followers but the way they phrased turned it into a dick-measuring contest.
With such a caustic (and narcissistic) personality, I'm amazed that they're still able to get invited to events. I'm still hoping SXSW was an eye-opener.

I think each instance should be considered as a case-by-case basis. She tries to network through Frank's connections, but we also know that she has paid to speak. Some of those conventions don't have a proper vetting process or are insular.

"Gay reboot" well there's my stupid quota filled for the day.

Just repeat to yourself, it's just a show, and should really just relax

Wu is becoming some sort of embodiment of everything wrong with the LGBT movement as it is now and I'm happy that I now have her Twitter feed to show people whenever I need to illustrate a point. I don't get why people are so concerned with every series getting some sort of gay representation these days. To me, it always felt like pure tokenism - most of the characters introduced to a popular series as part of some LGBT outreach existed solely to be the "gay" character there (ex. Northstar in the X-Men comics). What's the point in it? I don't feel represented by those characters. More often than not, I feel insulted by it and disappointed that the community then heralds these things as some sort of great breakthrough for the movement. We deserve better and, you know, we have gotten better representation when you actually bother to look for it. I'd rather have people create compelling, fully realized characters that happen to be gay rather than forcing their hand to write something they may not really understand well enough to handle. Then again, Brianna lacks depth as a person so I can understand why she would be into these sorts of things.

Besides, there's already a gay reboot of High School Musical. It was called Glee.

Really, Flynt, no gay people?
Way to erase Mirror Kira and Jadzia from existence. And completely ignore the Trill.
And that non-binary female presenting race that Riker fell in love with. Before they lobotomized it for breaking their code.

Very few shows/movies do LGBT well at all. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is ParaNorman. That is how you cast real LGBT characters. Have the reveal be an offhand comment at the end of the movie. It was perfect.
I doubt Wu has seen it though. If she had, she would have complained about how the character wasn't 'gay enough' or something.

We don't know there aren't gays in Star Trek but this seems like a stupid thing to have a hang up on. Star Trek has always been one of the more established shows that has been more bold when it comes to entertaining progressive concepts. They tackled the topic of gender in several parts of the series. Hell, Riker had a fling with someone from a species that had one gender. If a person from that race identified as male or female they were viewed as sick and get brainwashed. It was just an episode and the story arch stopped there but at the time I don't think anyone was touching on stuff like that.

Also Wu thinks if people don't shit on camera then they don't shit. Good catch Wu. I bet those assholes don't even know how to use the three seashells.

I guess she's also never seen Pleasantville.
