Real men light their home using propane lanturns!

But seriously LEDs are the best if only because you aren't having to change the garage light that's fucking god knows how tall in the air with a ladder and a flashlight in one hand the lightbulb in the other and fuck where is that damn socket.

Fucking hell, just bring candles back already if it's a 'soft glow' you want. Why stop at incandescent bulbs?

Pointless factoid time:

Kubricks film Barry Lyndon was shot with candle light using the lowest f stop lens ever in cinematography (0.7 Carl Zeiss leans developed for NASA), this is what gives the film such a natural glow.

I like led lights, but I miss that warm heat, especially when its winter here.
So I kinda agree with you.
>90 percent of the electricity going to waste heat

Nope.

That's like the light bulb equivalent of vinyl record hipsters.
Vinyl's are still useful and awesome.

LED lights are a ploy by progressive liberals.

Nuh nuh nuh, you cant has any lightbulb yoos want. Yoos can only has the lite bulbs deh sistem tells yoos can have.

I can't wait until Trump becomes president so that way we can all go back to incandescent.

Before the supply completely dried up I bought most of the 100 and 150 watt incandescent builds from Target. I'm talking a solid 40 or 50 bulbs.

I hate the alternatives as well. They're considerably more expensive and they don't last any longer dispite the hype around them. But the worst part to me is the color. It's always white / tungsten, it's very unnatural to me, it feels like a hospital operating room.

I like the newer LED bulbs more than the nasty colored fluorescent tube bulbs. Also at least with the ones I have now, I get 60 watts equivalent for 15.

My favorite color temperature bulb is still one of those 100 watt incandescents made of clear glass, but it's not very efficient.
