IIRC, Reddit allows you to change the display name to anything -- doesn't even need to be unique -- it's the '/u' username that needs to be site-wide unique and can't be changed after sign up. Nothing stopping someone from taking an embarrassing porn account and flipping the username to pin it on someone you're looking to smear.
