I have some personal experience with the Buzzerblog community, it was like Redditor hell.
It was some time last year or a couple years ago when I was on a huge game show bender. I had the game show channels playing nearly constantly as even though game shows are effectively mindless slop, the old ones are pretty comfy and I suppose that's what I needed at the time.
For some reason I decided to go out looking for a community to chat about these shows with when I stumbled upon Buzzerblog's discord server. It was standard fare at first, just shooting the breeze about our favorite shows, favorite hosts, etc when Cory came into the chat. The one thing that stands out in my mind is that guy was like the king of the redditors, think of the most neckbeardy pseudo-intellectual moralfagging you can think of and that describes his behavior to a tee. Instead of fostering a community for people that aren't as devoted to
obsessively nolifing knowledge over mindless television expressing their passion for game shows as he was, but no, instead he would instantly shut down anyone who dared not have as much game show knowledge as he did, saying that they had "spoken with unearned certainty." Certainly, the words of a man that never showers
probably why his skin looks like that.
Also the discord had a really weird hateboner for Bob Barker, especially Cory and his discord jannies, not even really for the valid reasons one would have distaste for him, like
like his tendency to perv on his (much younger) staff members, but because he was kind of rude to people on the show sometimes.
I wish I could back these things up with screenshots but I'm not sure how feasible that is. I didn't really think to archive everything when I was in the server, and when I tried to get back in to gather some juicy cringe, I had to fill in
fucking application to be let in the server.

My chance of being let in is probably fairly close to nil. If I do find stuff on that front, however, I'll add some of that to this thread.
I decided, out of morbid curiosity, to do something that I never did while I was in the server, and that's actually check out the website it's attached to, and it's mostly inoffensive I guess. The writers spend a long of time aimlessly sperging about the state of game shows but I don't really know what else you'd expect from a website touting itself to be your one-stop shop for game show journalism. The worst thing you can say is that it's basically just Kotaku but for game shows.
(Excerpt taken from Cory's
Pop Culture Jeopardy! review.)

I did a quick scan to see if any of these "reviews" had any of the petulant leftist moralfagging that I ran into in the server, and this overdone, hyperbolic rant on the current state of student loans is the best I could find. The rest, from what I could gather, was mostly pretty boring.

To conclude, anyone who finds any passing enjoyment from game shows should stay away from this nigger.
