Just thought that was interesting, I haven't kept up on the situation since it first happened. MVG also doesn't mention how Byuu died, no specifics - just he was a big emulation person and he is dead.

MVG has a pretty based audience by tranny emulation standards. Not only are they asking for evidence of byuu's "death" but they also like the multiple translation feature (blue checkmark twitter leftist translators hate it)

The fact that you guys included both 'New' and 'Literal' translation in English is very interesting to me to say at least. Not many game developers used literal translation from the Japanese dialogue and just take a different approach English dialogue that may make sense for Western audience. Some can be understandable like avoiding words related to alcoholic, but others can be very, very off the flow with what they're try to say here. This is very interesting to think about, because Shin Nekketsu Kouha (the original game) has a lot of foul languages, and you can see it with the Fan Translation which use the 'Literal' translation from the original Japanese dialogue. EDIT: Btw, Rest in Peace to Near. Whoever done to him must be faith themselves in hell...

I told you on Twitter and I will say it here, Near was an amazing person and it hit me personally very bad. But passing away is just a way of saying, he commited suicided, he was pushed to it because people ridicule anyone who is different. HE WAS A GENIUS!! and I will miss him dearly :(

@Angelo Nigro He does? Why didn't he provide evidence of that? When Terry Davis died, his family confirmed it and showed some official evidence as well. Within 3 days. As for Byuu, the overseas death report didn't show anyone in June becoming tree food in Japan. It's been almost a year, and no new evidence has come up.

There's an unconfirmed rumour from a pastebin from 2016 (which contains other confirmed facts) that Byuu was due to be audited by the IRS. The house was sold in 2018 (and they didn't buy another house) and his husband moved into a rental property while Byuu fucked off to Japan, which suggests perhaps a marital breakdown due to financial hardship. He allegedly also forced his husband to take him to an illegal castration doctor while lying about the reason, and then left his husband in financial difficulty singlehandedly raising his three nephews while largely ghosting him - and possibly has faked his death in part to avoid paying spousal support.

So not only did Byuu manage to get a relationship, he was the one wearing the trousers. Turns out even self mutilating uggo autists can find love, and even manage to be flat out abusive while also keeping the partner on the hook.

Because it implies that more than a fringe minority of customers don't trust the localizers enough to do their job properly and in good faith. And they'd be right: the time for maturing out of this "Vic Ireland" phase that the entire industry has been stuck in for seemingly decades is long past. Translate what you can, localize what you must, but keep the goddamn Goon humor and political references out of my fucking vidya.
