Some people just need to be less online or public. The farms may have played a roll in this, but just as much of a roll as the Internet in general. It's sad but when you have someone this removed from reality, this deep into unimportant digital bullshit it can happen. Really someone who knows the dude IRL should have stepped in before it got this bad. To all overly online people who happen to see this post, make sure you have a firm tether to reality.

The thing that gets me is that the outcome where byuu masterminded a plot to get the Farms taken down, then went off into the sunset like the end of a movie, likely to continue his livelihood completely detached from the situation is the one that makes byuu into a more interesting and successful character. Instead he just an-hero’d like every other mentally ill loser who couldn’t take the heat, even when he could’ve just gone under another alias like he had done many times before. Iirc he didn’t even have a confirmed dox at the time of the byuuicide (something uncommon when it comes to thread-havers), so it’s not even like you could argue that the KF thread was a permanent cudgel over his head.

I still haven't seen any proof of other emulator developers even harassing him. This claim comes from logs of TwinAphex talking shit about him in the RetroArch IRC channel being posted on RetroArchLeaks which isn't really harassment. I'm sure it's horrible to be called a pedophile (as he claimed people did in Discords he was in) but I would chalk it up to random trolls wanting to fuck with people unless somebody can prove they coordinated with TwinAphex or something.

Edit: Thanks for the docs Null. Crazy how the site that supposedly killed him has more proof of his death than Hector Martin.

Byuu's apartment building was the Open Residencia in Nishinippori, Arakawa-ku, Tokyo:
Room 403 is presumably on the 4th floor. They list 1-bedroom and 3-bedroom apartments on that floor, but I assume he would have had the 1-bedroom. Rent would have been something like US $1500/month.
It's unclear what exactly he found to hang himself from in this featureless place, but if Epstein could find a way so could Byuu, I suppose.

I don’t feel any more bad for Byuu than I do Ronnie Mcnutt or anyone else who committed suicide as a spectacle. If there is an afterlife I’m positive that these people would regret the fact they wasted the rest of their lives over petty drama or things that can be overcome, while dragging in a herd on onlookers to prove some morbid “point” and being able to pin the blame of their deaths on someone other than themselves. Dying in that manner is truly a coward’s death in my eyes. The people who suffer from mental illness that I do feel bad for are the ones who only hurt themselves, take Terry Davis for example, he was very clearly mentally tortured his whole life and when he did it, he just posted a simple video coming to terms with his life and his illnesses, I don’t consider him a coward because his downfall was entirely not his fault, but some weird misfiring of his brain he could never hope to control. I could care less however about some NEET who coded pretty good and threatened a site owner with suicide unless he hired him in some kind of weird slave contract. RIP BOZO

Also didn't Null talk about how he tried to blackmail the site prior to it? I might be misremembering it.
