Fun fact: someone committing suicide in an apartment drastically reduces its rental value. It's considered jiko bukken and is legally recognized as a defect that must be disclosed (along with properties where a murder happened and a few others). Not disclosing can allow the tenant to take legal action.

A lot of Japanese are still superstitious about these things. (And others actually seek out these properties for the low rents.) There's actually an American case where someone sold a "haunted house" without disclosing it and was sued over it and lost, because it was notoriously haunted to the point it lowered the property value, and the seller had even advertised it as a haunted house to the public before dumping it to the sucker.

Stambovsky v. Ackley, 169 A.D.2d 254 (N.Y. App. Div. 1991).

Generally, the seller is required to disclose anything that affects the property value even here in the U.S., but it's a more formalized thing in Japan recognized under statute.

There was a time, back in the Middle 2000s, when the Furry Fandom was Fun -- Free (in the sense of what you were "allowed" to draw or write) -- and FEARLESS.... Very few people other than those aligned with the Burned Furs movement cared enough to try to CANCEL artists or fan-fic writers over something they drew or wrote... but as the Fandom grew and the people joining got younger and younger, it's gotten way more fixated on concepts of "purity."

I get that some people don't like the NSFW aspects of this fandom, and that's fine and that is their right to not like it -- but I don't think the Furry Fandom as a whole should be dictated by a small vocal minority... (PURITY minorities, please don't deliberately misinterpret what I say)..... with the rise of Social Media such as Tumblr & Twitter, the fixation on "Purity" became even more pronounced.... people these days are trying to cancel each other left & right over the smallest things.... this person has the wrong opinion about such and such type of art, so everyone go crucify that person....

We saw this happen to Hearth Fox, the "popufur" celeb with the Wigglefox Puppet. One of their friends was being attacked for having a Feral Fursona.... Hearth went to bat for their friend and stuck up for them and said "2D Feral Talking Animals Aren't Real, It's Fiction, It's Harmless." This was the "wrong opinion" to have, according to the Bureau of Furry Fiction Morality & Ethics and Hearth was promptly dragged through the mud and slandered for daring to express this opinion....

I have also watched in sheer bewilderment and confusion as someone who ran a Plushie Modding Business was ruthlessly and unfairly attacked by the Twitter Mob for the "crime" of modding a Bluey Plushie for a paying customer.... apparently, the Committee To Cleanse The Furry Fandom has decreed that Plushies are the exact same thing as Real People or Real Animals..... having a Plushie Kink now makes you 100% equal to a Z00phile, or a P*dophile.... I find this new Fandom Policy utterly ridiculous.

The Fandom went from drawing tons of Balto, Scooby Doo and Lion King R34, to now demanding that every character an artist draws be made anthro and 6ft tall and muscular.... to avoid the possibility of that character being misinterpreted or misidentified as "Feral" or "Cub." This seems strange to me, coming from a fandom that was once so free in terms of what you could draw or write fan-fic about.... but that was back in the Furcadia & ICQ days, the downloading music from Napster on your 56k Modem days.... the "Yahoo Groups Full of Yiffy Artwork" days.....

It's the same article I wrote, down to the words "Thought Crimes" and all. I'm not very original. I read and linked the peer-reviewed research on it, which all leaned toward that it would reduce abuse by serving as a fictional outlet, and wouldn't cause anyone who wasn't already predisposed that way to become so. Banning drawings doesn't erase sick fucks from the world, unfortunately. In absence of that, I thought reducing harm would be better than making it worse in the name of moral outrage. People have since made me aware of grooming, which as the god's honest truth wasn't a term I knew at the time, and I changed my mind. We're human. We make mistakes. Sometimes incredibly massive ones. Keep in mind that Super Mario World is the most downloaded SNES ROM with a very popular library of ROM hacks due to Lunar Magic. Accuracy was supposed to be byuu's biggest selling point.

It depends on the context. For example, one context is actually outside of furry art and means being extremely sexually aggressive bordering on rape. So your intuition was not too far off of the mark, but you're in the wrong context.

EDIT: I checked with a source on the subject and they clarified the above context is primarily a fujoshi/yaoi thing. I seemed to remember that but they confirmed it.
