I thought it was nice that she was a dork with a normal job, and participated in videos off and on but mostly seemed immune to his fame. That seems like the kind of dynamic that would work long-term.

Wasn’t she a professional leech? Er uh “pet mom”. I just remember her drinking and streaming to like 30 super parasocial stalkers and play some cliche woman interest final fantasy game and do so horribly she would give up, leave dead stream on air, and bother charlie if he wanted any of a pizza she was ordering. (And charlie as a rule never drank anything)
Every night tho he would interrupt his stream to “say goodnight” to her. Which could have been a weird fetish dominant thing, interpreting that very uncharitably.
He always seemed pretty dismissive of her, more than the dogs even, when she wandered into his room during stream. She would ask simple questions without doing any effort to get into that could have addressed them and he would kind of have to say one word answers when usually the natural response would be how could an adult woman be so dumb.
Sorry if that sounds harsh but she totally seemed like a womanchild in every interaction. Which is fine if she’s a mother with servants picking up the slack. But if charlie fancies himself an intellectual, dating a toddlerbrain only works for condemned coomers like boogie.

On the contrary, Im old and the internet was way different back then. People found Rage Comics, Newgrounds, Egoraptor and the Angry Video Game Nerd hilarious because that was the humor Meta at the time. He was hilarious during that time when he did random voice recordings saying a bunch of swear words with the most flat delivery ever. But humor was very different back then, and if you didnt live during that time then you wont get it.
I feel bad if you only discovered Critikal when he was on Twitch because he was a totally different person and his humor is now cringe because it never evolved from then.
But at the same time, he became a twitch react faggot so its hard to care.

I remember it being mentioned a few times on stream that she was in veterinary school, and charlie had mentioned that he donated money to the vet clinic she worked at to basically have a "fund" available on a case-by-case basis for owners who couldn't afford an expensive surgery/treatment/etc.
Charlie in his early youtube career used to donate all his ad revenue to charities before stopping (his reasoning being that every charity was a scam which sounds so fake.... do better research??), so when I learned about his vet donations I was glad he was able to find a way to still donate in a way that he knew was actually going directly to those who need help. I wonder if those donations will stop, or if the mutual breakup/pet custody (lol) means he'll still do that.
Also call me pessimistic but I can't help but wonder if she got her vet school paid for (which is expensive as hell) and then decided that his "bro chad"/ wannabe keanu reeves act was too much/bleeding into their real life

IIRC they started dating when they were in college when Charlie, by his own account, was insecure and kind of weird. Seems like he's changed a lot as his brain has finished developing and she's the same well meaning but thoroughly annoying girl. Honestly surprised it took this long. If you're around women in The Caring Professions (tm), there's a type of guy they tend to end up with, so it made sense to me. A lot of dudes who were self-employed "contractors" in the old times, wanna-be streamers and podcasters in the modern day. This was the anomaly in that he actually was making great money, but it's funny to think about Tiana's coworkers in paw-print scrubs saying "oh yeah, Charlie, he's a streamer" the same way some other tech's boyfriend is totally going to make it big any second now.

Charlie was funnier back in the day IMO. Baritone, deadpan, avgn flavored commentary over shitty vidya was better than seeing james rolfes dumb face, over-reactions, and "comedy" skits in avgn.
Nowadays seems his videos are all twich restreams and clips, usually about him flexing on other youtubers for not living up to his personal standards (which i dont begrudge him for, hes a pretty standup dude). Not interesting in the slightest.
