I remember specifically this one animetuber guy who was stuck in a weird situation because when he got monetized, he was abroad on vacation. So Youtube in its infinite wisdom refused to pay him to any account from anywhere other than the country he'd gone to. And so, over several years, he tried everything including going to the country and opening a bank account there, and YT continued to refuse paying him.
Charlie talked to his contacts and they managed to get him paid, and it was a lot of money, since it'd been building up for years.

I think I remember he's helped others with weird situations like that, but I don't remember more specific cases.

That is a bizarrely Kafkaesque situation.

It’s not hard to come back from where he was at. 99% of his audience only cared because the latest drama and would have gone back to consuming his podcast and videos like nothing happened . What he said isn’t even that controversial with the majority of people due to years of public propaganda for acceptance and was a non take lolbert “if everyone consents” nothing burger. He just had to explain he is dumb streamer man who isn’t smart enough to understand the conversation.

I am both surprised and not surprised he over-reacted like this. I've been watching Charlie's content on and off for more than a decade and I don't ever remember him getting pushback on anything the way he has with his shitty but milquetoast takes on transing kids. Psychologically it's gotta have an effect when you've spent most of your life experiencing nothing but people telling you how right you are and blowing smoke up your ass to suddenly slam face-first into a wall of people righteously angry at your shit takes, especially when the guy you were up against was fucking Sneako.

TL;DR A normal person used to winning and losing arguments would have reacted proportionally, but Charlie has spent most of his life in an echo chamber of dicksuckers so I'm not surprised he snapped this hard.

I never expected Cr1tikal to be so fragile that people giving him backlash for a take ONE (1) time would be enough to send him packing. He's so used to being Youtube's Designated Fencesitter for the past 7 years (since Boogie lost that position after his divorce) that the concept of disagreement or being unpopular is so foreign to him he doesn't know how to handle it even at age 30.

The worst part is that he's basically, effectively undone how badass his "mags not clips" response video to Sneako was. It's really funny he thinks people that clowned on him were agreeing with Sneako. When in reality it's just the mental gymnastics to rationalize that children can consent to life-altering procedures relating to their sexual development while also claiming a child can't consent to marriage to an adult. Both sides of the argument were dumb and the takeaway should be that children cannot meaningfully give consent in either scenario. A child does not have the mental or emotional capacity to understand what they are getting themselves into and the long-term ramifications that will stick with them that they won't be able to take back.
