Re: Our Pet Lolcow's academic achievements

Hmm, graduating high school is an academic achievement?? Though I'd just love to see what Chris's class ranking was. I was on HONOR ROLL myself, and my class ranking was around 100/425. Though I was in National Honor Society too. AUGH YEAH

Not sure, I'm British too, but I would be surprised if there isn't something like Wonga or Quick Quid available. That PS Quadruple could be his in under 15 minutes.

It'll be his for exactly 15 minutes too due to the exorbitant interest rate.

I'd love to see the bailiffs repossessing his PS4, that would be hilarious.

He'll probably start squirming on the floor like when his locker was emptied.

Graduating HS is an achievement because not everyone does it, only 70% of Americans do it (the graduation rate gets even worse in the cities). I'd like to see what Chris's rank was too, but I'm guessing bottom half of the class.

I was on honor roll too but didn't think much of it. I graduated 31 of 428 but didn't care about NHS because I was as lazy as Chris when I was in high school.

I am a bit proud of being in the top 10% of my high school and college classes, though. Then again, this is the real world and no one cares about how well you did in school. They only care about what you can do and can't do.

Fixed.

Anyone who was shot in the face by John Travolta is NEVER a good character reference.

70% of Americans, but I'm betting that number's significantly higher for people in Chris's socioeconomic status.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow's academic achievements

True. It's around 99% in my town of about 40,000, and we're your typical middle class suburbs.

70% is the national average, IIRC

My mom worked as a school social worker for many middle schools for almost 40 years before she retired. From all of her anecdotes about working with students in the special ed program and students with families on welfare, many of the students of a lower socioeconomic statuses barely graduate or don't graduate.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow's academic achievements

Pfft, honor roll isn't that hard. I used to be among the top of my class and I barely did anything. But then the depression kicked in and......yeah.
Still passing tho! AUGH YEAH

I dunno. Having your posts favorited by a depressed robot with a brain the size of a planet might not necessarily be a good thing. Just sayin'...

Chris wasn't on welfare at the time, and he claims to be mainstreamed.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow's academic achievements

Chris Chan had success at high school and a community college and never did anything again.

I also think that if you're in a Special Ed class, you're not eligible to be on the honour roll for that subject, don't diminish an achievement for the kids that are working REALLY hard and excelling in class just out of some bullshit feel good hugbox crap.

Chris's life can be boiled down to being cocky about a participation ribbon that we was given 13 years ago.

Re: Our Pet Lolcow's academic achievements

How did he do in other subjects, for example his spanish? I do feel for him on maths though, i hate it and it hates me (it ruined my life because it made me a draw a dirty picture of me and a girl with my thumbs up and then i got kicked out of my hobby shop by a dang dirty XXX then my dad went to hell and my mum became a fat pokemon)

Judging by his tenuous (and that's being generous) grasp on the language, I would imagine the answer to be "not very good."

He can't even do well on his own language.
