Pretty cool seeing July getting the "rub" from Mark Millar.
The only explanation for me is that Millar wants a piece of the Rippaverse pie. I noticed in his tweet its praise, but elusive on any particular point on the book itself.
I read ISOM #1 getting it on the $5 pull up deal.
It's boring and unremarkable. Nothing in the art stands out. Fight scenes don't make sense.
(Nice Stretch idiot)
Isom is barely developed as a character. He doesn't like disrespect and he quit his job (lol). Credit for not revealing his eventual electricity based powers I guess.
The world building which some hailed as a feature is basically throwing a new character into the mix at whatever ADHD point. Isom Man gets thrown out of a building and hits a blonde woman who he immediately starts fighting with. Introduction of this character wasn't foreshadowed or set up, Isom man just literally flies out of a fight looney tunes style and immediately starts fighting a white woman. AlphaCore shows up also. They are introduced in the book and dropped immediately.
Rippa is riding a wave of popularity and the fans got exactly what they want. Worst part of the book by far is the Dialogue. You can tell he never said what he wrote out loud.
(Page is immediately boring)
It's some sort of communal madness infecting Rippaverse fans. So desperate for "Anti-Woke" that it is literally all it took to propel the book to $3.7 Million dollars worth of success. With the latest episode of South Park featuring the "Panderstone" Rippa should bounce back from the million dollar drop on issue two.
This audience wants other people to have opinions for them. Rippa and South Park has them covered all the way to the bank.
Here is one more piece of evidence there's some sort of mental illness in the community. Why would you draw this? Who is letting the Energy Drink addicted British fat guy get away with calling himself a "Silverback" ?
