"“We kind of led with the fact that she’s Muslim, but that’s not really what the story is about. It’s not about her being Muslim. That’s an aspect of her identity,” said Amanat."

This quote would probably ring more true if there were a single mention of any other character trait or experience in the article.

Ironically it's kinda true in the sense that Ms. Marvel comics show Kamala as an extremely Americanized girl who only seems "Muslim" in the sense that her parents and brother practice it. She comes off as the type who'd probably drop it after marrying some white guy and then getting fat after binging on bacon burgers, if it's possible to get fat if you're a shapeshifter.

She's """"Muslim"""" is accurate.

There was an issue of The Champions where they went to Afghanistan and freed several girls who were being punished for simply wanting an education. You'd think she'd be the one who talks to them and encourages them to never give up because of their shared background of being muslims.

Nope.

Find a photo that's head-on; one of her eyes is lower than the other, bitch looks like a Picasso.
Did she have a stroke?:

Is it a surprise she gave TEDx presentations:

Literally the first page of her #1. Like I said, she's "Muslim" in quotation marks making the marketing very....odd.

Throw another one in the pit boys
http://boundingintocomics.com/2018/...rs-try-target-him-for-support-of-red-rooster/
Another Twitter user Coolranch4lyfe would make it crystal clear why Weeks was targeted pointing out he promoted Red Rooster, follows Diversity & Comics, and follows a number of right leaning pundits including Ben Shapiro, Dana Loesch, and Tucker Carlson. He also follows psychiatrist Jordan Peterson
Weeks also worked with Elizabeth Breitwesier (1/2 of Red Roosters team) in the latest batman comics. Kurt Busiek defends Weeks but still goes with the CG crowd are bigots.
You want to drive Lee Weeks out of comics, you’re gonna have to go through me.
There are better ways of supporting marginalized groups than trying to shun people because you don’t like who they seem to like. https://t.co/OnVPSDk9yK

But when you try to say “that guy there is a friend of someone I think is a bad guy, so hey, DC Comics, will you shun that guy for his supposed friend’s behavior…I’m not with you.
I’m up for all kids of good comics.

Why do these people always seem so close to being self aware. He'll defend his friend from being blacklisted due to people he follows, but will condemn others for who they follow.

Ron Marz being a piece of shit again

DnC talking about it

I was afraid they were gonna come for Lee Weeks eventually. I've followed him on twitter for awhile, and if you look at who he follows, it's obvious he's a conservative (although the majority of who he follows are other comic pros), but he NEVER tweets about politics at all, he just promotes his work, and seems like an all-around decent guy. Busiek is still an asshole, but it was good on him to come to bat for Weeks. The best case scenario is that this is a shot across the bow to both the Doyles/Shiachs on twitter, and the other lowkey conservatives in the industry. :optimistic:

>concern troll

God, I cannot stand this comic.

I follow a few conservative comic people and yeah, they tend to be very low key with their personal opinion and politics. Kind of like they're professionals and realise their opinions on politics doesn't matter to anyone but them. But the past few years has meant that it's just utterly acceptable to scream about your political opinions to anyone who will listen.

I was fairly sure there used to be a saying about politics and religion being no no topics in social situations with complete strangers.

A weeb is just a nerd for a culture that has nothing but disdain for him.

That said, the irony isn't lost on me. The one guy that could have corrected everything by taking cues from the successful manga market... and they castrate him before he has the chance.
I dont think Japan has disdian for Western culture I think they just dont care.

It’s official, CB’s ball are hanging on her keychain.

Remember how it was discovered that Moot started neutering 4chan because he was getting tail from hot chick who ran in SJW circles? I think CB is repeating Moot's mistake....which means that CB will eventually end up lying in the ashes of Marvel with his dick in his hand as Sana dumps him for a hotter guy.

They have a disdain for weebs
Back in the early 2000's there used to be outright hostility between Japanese creators and weeb audiences. Why? well most westerners pirated / fan-subed their material and it was only the REALLY weird weeb otaku fans reaching creators. This has slowly died off as anime / manga has become more accessible to the western audience. Japanese creators have slowly realised that there is a whole new market for them to make money from and don't hate the gaijin as much. Strangely comic pros are currently going the other way with outright disdain for their audiences - nerds are the new weebs.

An example why the Japanese hate weebs

An example why the Japanese have relented on weebs

One piece (1997) catching Batman in sales (1939) with ~1/6th coming from weebs

The translation minimizes the disappointment of the parents:
Asian chick: “What do you think of Aitor’s interest?”

Dad: “It’s great to learn about different cultures and music.
What he really said: “No, I really like that he’s learning about different cultures and new music. The music. ”

He emphasized “music” twice.

Mom: “I think it’s wonderful that he likes Japanese music. It may lead to new things.”
What she really said: “I find it perfect that he likes Japanese music and I wish it could lead him somewhere. That he finds something he likes more.”

The mom is even more blunt about it.

I’ve seen that look of “when will this faggot move out” plenty of times before and Aitor’s parents definitely have it.

Honestly that cover is pretty good, I’m still not buying Iron Sights but if he ever sells that cover as a poster I may get it.

I heard that in contrast to other Marvel diversity titles, Ms. Marvel is actually good.
Most agree that her first run (Vol.1 aka: Pre-Secret Wars) was good, after that (Vol.2 aka: Post Secret Wars) it became horrendously bad. The writers started pushing her as propaganda a symbol of strong POC Wahmyn representation:
