Avatar Comics, which apparently has a weird love/hate relationship with Rich. In particular, they forced him to fire Joe Glass as the fall guy for Glass and Jude Terror's plot to deplatform Richard (something Rich repeatedly denies since he was in on the plot and desperately doesn't want to be fired from the website if Avatar found out how deeply involved he was) and recently are alleged to have demoted Rich from having total control over the site, IIRC corner gossip and now has to share responsibilities with others who Avatar brought in.
Also, Rich inadvertedly drops a HUGE fucking red pill in the opening of the article (wonder if he realizes it)
Him mocking the Milkshake selfie was the inciting event that put him on everyone's radar. Then Sitterson raped GI Joe while Chris Ryall held the franchise down, which was what really caused Richard to take off and get fame, since he was one of the very few comic people calling bullshit on Rich and company's attempt to blood libel GI Joe fandom when GI Joe fandom dared tried to save GI Joe from being raped.
But the rape of GI Joe and the fight against the SJW mafia (who declared total war on the entire GI Joe fandom), plus the complete and total failure of the post-Secret War relaunch of Marvel Comics and DC You (both of which were explicitly aimed at the SJW market), kicked off Comicsgate.
It's been said that modern Democrats, especially rich ones, use identity politics the same way Democrats used identity politics pre/post-Civil War: IE use X-Supremacy to keep the poor at each other's throats so they don't see how the rich and powerful are fucking them.
When the great party realignment happened following the passing of the Civil Rights Act and the creation of the "Southern Strategy" in the late 60s, it took a while for the democrats to go back to that KKK era strategy (this time preaching the opposite, to harm white people) in the early 2010s when Occupy Wall Street happened and the wealthy elites suddenly realized that the masses were so fucking pissed over the handling of the economic crash of 2008, that a French Revolution style mass murdering of the wealthy might actually come into being. Pushing said identity politics was their way to silence dissent economically and on a wide rang of other issues relating to corruption and cronyism on the left.
Rich is just pouting because he and his ilk have been weaponizing Twitter's corrupt banning policy for years and are now fucking pissed that Comicsgate is giving them a taste of their own medicine and in a way that also shows the absurdity of transism these days (IE how easy it is to claim being trans for perks and special treatment and immunity from all consequences).
His spiel also opens with a lot of stuff where you can tell that even Rich is starting to see it's a losing battle he's waging and that he probably regrets the fact that him and his fellow Ellis cultists have 100% failed and that everything they have preached has not only been soundly rejected but that the nerds/geeks have started fighting back and doing so in a way that they can't defend themselves over.

Because he can. Rich is tight with Andy Khouri from the Warren Ellis/V-Hive Forum days and Andy is tight with Zoe, who in turn has Twitter on speed dial to cry to whenever someone calls her out on her shit.
Plus Rich has other connections that are several degrees away from the corrupt cunts at Twitter who would gladly pull strings to get him an audience with the top brass in charge of banning/suspending people to cry to them about how "unfair" they are being.

Also, fans have Doomsday Clock as the "real" sequel, which has the added bonus of it being the direct result of Geoff Johns being pissed the fuck off that the left went full tilt insane after Trump won and basically is him doing a story where you have the king of the SJWs (Veidt) on the run for his crimes, with a retainer of SJW diversity psychos (black guy, white woman, Hispanic man) trying to wipe out the DC Universe because Dr Manhattan won't come back and bail his ass out of trouble. Plus the bonus meta points that removing a heterosexual Alan Scott from the universe literally turns the DC universe into a hellish dystopia...
Mad Men, in it's moon landing episode, nailed how SJWs would ruin the moon landing. IE complain that the money spent on the moon landing would have been better spent on more programs for minorities.

The hilarious thing about that cover was how it was GAY Joe fans that led the charge to publicly shit on it. Which pretty much made it impossible for IDW and their media cronies to get any traction on calling GI Joe fandom homophobic.
Ironically, had they just spent the fucking money to do a lipstick lesbian cover with the Joe ladies, people wouldn't have said anything. Or even done a cover with Dial Tone/Mainframe (who are pretty much all but officially canon gay) or Storm Shadow/Snake Eyes, who's bromance is the stuff of legends, no one would have cared.

"Let's Unionize Comics" displays a stunning lack of self-awareness. If comics was a union job with a Bernie-approved $15/hour wage, none of these people would have jobs. The entire point of the lower tier of the comics industry is that dangerhairs work for free in exchange for being able to call themselves "creatives". If comics companies start having to pay actual salaries and benefits, the (soy)bean counters are going to take a much harder look at whether they're getting anything for their money.
