In an effort to make DSP more accessible to a wider audience I have created a thread for one of the most prized yet under-appreciated facets of DSP's existence - semi-frequently when he faces struggles with his livestreaming business or is challenged by his audience he will launch into a prized and cherished tangent in which he attempts to get the viewer to imagine his business as if it were a sandwich shop - these so-called "sandwich shop analogies" usually go into deep detail about the clientele that frequent his imaginary establishment as well as the particular sandwiches that he serves to his customers, such as this quote below:

And someone says, "Well, we actually just sold so many chicken parm sandwiches, we can't keep up with demand. Instead of selling all our other sandwiches, why don't we just cancel them all? Get rid of everything. Let's only sell chicken parm sandwiches. Let's turn this into the chicken parm sandwich store. Let's go out and spend all of our budget and all of our time only preparing chicken parm sandwiches."

But he doesn't serve lunchmeat sandwiches (which he feels are beneath him) and he's actually talking about the intricacies of being an on-demand khantent creator and these sandwiches are actually used to illustrate to the viewer the rotating selection of about 20 games he has going at any one time.

To the outside viewer these "sandwich shop analogies" might seem like they're a new-style mannerism from Phil but they have been around for years at this point. In the below quote a high-IQ reader of the DSP subforum using the "sandwich shop analogy" in another context for humorous purposes:

Most people want to read comics or see movies or listen to music they can immediately identify with, and I'm guessing a great majority of people who have never eventried PANTHER have an instinctive notion that they will not be able to identify with the character. But people universally identify with Michael Jordan or Michael Jackson or Muhammad Ali.

The problem with race and popular media is this in most every "black" movie or "black street" music CD you'll see or hear, there is some hostility directed towards whites. Now,were I a white male, I certainly wouldn't want to spend eight bucks to go see a film where white males are portrayed as stupid and the butt of every joke, or where I am made to feel guilty about things I had nothing to do with, and prejudices Idon't actually have.

That is my pet peeve with a lot of black film and black comedians it's all White People Bashing, and it limits our opportunities. In addition to the assumption that PANTHER may be about dusty hungry kids in the desert, or that the lead character may not be someone the reader can identify with, it is possible we are also burdened with the reflexive instinct that PANTHER— by virtue of its being a "black" book— is somehow hostile to whites.​
