The devs certainly are not, considering this is the art they decided to give Schwarzwälder in the Shroomie Shenanigans! event.
For those that are not aware, this is a revival of the first April Fool's event this game had, where you would give your Cookies "rainbow shroomies" and they would transform into alt designs like the one in the spoiler. You can see all the alt art from the first event here, and most of them are humanizations/animefied versions of the Cookies.

To promote their next update, Devsisters releases a video showcasing the new costume they have for one of their cookies. The only part that matters here for us is the last two seconds.

Suddenly, as you can guess, all the critiques are gone. And everyone pretended the dumb complaints never happened,

This is pretty minor, but while searching up something else on X/Twitter, I saw this Tweet, which stuck out to me because this artist put self-harm scars on a cookie

I've seen this stupid Cookie Run Kingdom animation be parodied and mocked on the social media accounts I follow:
Allegedly this video being so cringe is what caused the creator to be "harassed" (likely mercilessly mocked):
(I believe the original post was a repost of the above video, and I think Ten J. is referring to DianaTheAlien when saying "this person")

Now I'm not sure how bad the harassment was (since I'm writing this almost 2 weeks after it happened) but while the video is pretty cringe, it's just a dumb meme video; IMO it doesn't really warrant harassing a 16 year old. I guess that's the price to pay to put retarded videos on X/Twitter.

Videos like that are cringe because it's essentially "this fictional character that is much worse morally if he was a real person thinks you're a weirdo for finding Cookies hot".
If the harassment was real then that's a big shame, however I'm betting it was kids on kids violence.

This is the Cookie Run community. They label a cookie as anything they think fits them best and then peer pressure vulnerable minors into agreeing with their headcanon. Rinse and repeat for years. Can't wait for the 1200th boycott because a fictional sweet doesn't adhere to your headcanons you spent a minute thinking about, with the only reason behind it is "because they FEEL like it". The same people to say pronouns don't equal gender and that gender is a social construct. Therefore, anyone who just FEEL like a genderspecial IS a genderspecial-- no questions asked.
Being a regular biological man or a woman is not enough. They must be quirky and special and be gay gay homosexual gay.

Also "the fandom" forgetting about Eternal Sugar Cookie and Hollyberry Cookie even before the event has ended should tell you enough. It is always those that do not play the game that are the most vocal about these non-issues.

The funniest thing about this is that I would consider the appearance of the cookies here and the coloring choices to be less in line with racial indicators and more of a stylistic choice. It's just stark white alongside a very specific palette when coloring for character portraits. That's probably why the idea of 'white washing' never crossed this artist's mind.
I think a specific Vocaloid song that spawned a lot of fan art features a similar gimmick.
It's not white washing, it's art. It's just fucking art. I would argue such a color scheme has the power of drawing out what's noticeable and cool about a character design beyond their fucking 'ethnicity', like the very apparent fruit-themes based on the cookies who are in turn based on fruits.
I always feel horrible for artists, particularly the younger crowd, who are simply sharing progress and projects they're proud of, engaging in a hobby they love enough to pour potentially hours of effort into, inspired by a game that makes them happy and encourages them to keep developing their skillset. And instead of getting any constructive criticism or positive feedback and finding a community to help them grow, learn, and better themselves, everything is drown out by shit that doesn't fucking matter. By people who haven't picked up an art tool in their miserable lives.
Her Lime Cookie was super cute as well. Tragic.
