CWCollateral: Chapter 17 (Part C)

Kevin's triumphant return to Slumberland with Strike Team Needlemouse and the rest of the Skyraider group is cut short when he learns that the other Honey Badgers have been sent on an emergency supply run to Wilderness, leaving him on his own in the middle of the chaos. Desperate for reinforcements, Mary Lee Walsh calls upon him, Amy, Knuckles, and Tails to help defend the besieged PVCC base from the incoming enemy assault. While the Americans establish contact with their superiors in Charlottesville and prepare for the U.S. invasion of CWCville, the Jerkop and his comrades in the Red Devils squad must hold the line against Punchy, Angelica, and the overwhelming might of Sonichu's fully mobilized EHPF army. Though the odds have been stacked sky-high against them, the defenders of Slumberland must call upon the three heroes in their midst to even stand a chance against one of the most brutal and devastating assaults since the Battle of Menchi-Nasu.

Behind enemy lines, Sonic the Hedgehog continues his fruitless efforts to turn Sonichu away from his villainous path, but to no avail. Driven by vengeance and an unrelenting bloodlust against the humans who took his family from him, the Hero of CWCville continues to press the attack on Slumberland despite his mentor's pleas. Unable to make his old friend see reason, Sonic must make one of the most difficult choices of his life. Can Sonichu be saved, or is it already too late? Is he beyond salvation? Beyond redemption? Beyond all hope?

Only time will tell.

It's actually a quote from MovieBob, but now that you mention it, I think I'll see about putting in a few Arthur Chu quotes. It would be a missed opportunity otherwise.

Trapped between an assault on two fronts from the EHPF army under Sonichu's command, Mary Lee Walsh is forced to commence the final evacuation of Slumberland. As the rescue convoy makes its way across CWCville to the besieged base, the dwindling number of Jerkop defenders must fight for their lives against a fanatical horde of chus, Punchy, and Angelica. But with the much-needed assistance of Sonic the Hedgehog, Amy, Knuckles, Tails, and the U.S. military strike team, the PVCC may yet stand a chance of surviving long enough for their reinforcements to arrive.

At the center of the chaos, Kevin Shaw finds himself fighting a bloody battle through the base he once knew as his home, encountering friends and enemies alike as the building draws closer and closer to being overrun. The fall of Slumberland may be inevitable, but there is still hope for the revolution. Even in a time of such despair, even in the face of defeat, even when it seems as if all the odds have been stacked against them, salvation is falling upon the PVCC. And with the dawn of a new day close at hand, help may be on the way to CWCville sooner than any of them would believe.

Faced with the bitter reality of his crippling defeat at the Battle of Slumberland, Sonichu begins to realize the sickening truth. The PVCC are no longer alone in their uprising, and with the American military only hours away from making landfall in the city, he will be forced to adapt to this new situation if there is any hope of keeping his army from being slaughtered. As the invasion fleet draws closer by the hour, he must turn to his remaining friends in the Combo for help, in a desperate attempt to fend off this new and imminent threat.

Meanwhile, at Wilderness, Mary Lee Walsh and the Miscreants have finally established contact with Colonel Devoria, and the stage is set for Operation Downfall to begin. All of their efforts have led to this moment: the explosive first confrontation between the United States of America and the Electric Hedgehog Police Force. As Kevin Shaw, the Honey Badgers, Team Sonic, a task force of five other Jerkop squads, and the Skyraider team speed toward the beach, they will soon find themselves face to face with an enemy force from beyond their darkest nightmares. The Battle of CWCville Beach has begun, and only the combined forces of the PVCC and the U.S. military stand any chance of breaking through the formidable defense of Sonichu's EHPF army and the Chaotic Combo.

Now that Downfall has kicked off I would like to point out that if Marines are landing on a beach no matter how much technology has changed, a Jarhead will want that beach to be a crater which means those ships offshore should have been pounding that beach with Tomahawks and 5 inch shells with naval and marine planes bombing targets inland. Okay I'm good now, carry on.

See, this is where I'm a little hesitant to say one thing or another, since you do have a few good points. However, consider the following:
  • The U.S. had no idea that the EHPF were even planning an ambush, or that they would be defending the beach. They expected retaliation, not an ambush, and wanted to catch the chus by surprise to minimize friendly casualties. As it stands...that didn't work out well at all.
  • As Colonel Devoria stated, there's no way that the military could launch a bombing or shelling operation on inland targets without placing thousands of civilian lives at risk. That's why they're rolling troops in to evacuate the city. Once the civilians are safely out of harm's way, they can bomb CWCville to ashes and not have to worry about collateral damage.
How much do you know about military operations and procedures? If you'd be willing to help, I'm always looking for good references to make my writing more accurate and realistic, even if this is a Sonichu story we're talking about.

To answer your question I have studied the Island hopping campaign of 1943 to 1945 and the European landings plus every landing in-between and I know enough to give you radio chatter dialogue for fighter, helicopter and infantry filler.

Will there be an epilogue of the fate of the ruins of Cwcville and the characters? Like a followup of what they did afterwards?

I originally had a plan to write a short sequel detailing the post-revolution events and the aftermath of the war. However, at this point, yes, there will be an epilogue with exactly what you're describing.

Also, your avatar is basically Chris's mindset right now. "This is fine. I'm okay with the events that are unfolding currently."

Trapped between Sonichu's seemingly unstoppable EHPF army and the triple threat of Bubbles Rosechu, Blake Sonichu, and Momma Swampert, the beleaguered Marines of the American invasion force fight to survive a brutal landing on the shores of CWCville Beach. Even as the infamous Clyde Cash and the operatives under his command rush to their aid, the soldiers have been thrown into a battle where the odds are stacked squarely against them. As Christian Weston Chandler's control over Sonichu continues to collapse, the Hero of CWCville has devised several new and frightening battle strategies, putting the city's would-be liberators to the ultimate test of courage, skill, and strength.

As the battle rages across the beach, Kevin Shaw and the Honey Badgers are tasked with holding the left flank against the advancing chu army, while the Red Devils fight to protect Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends from being caught in the crossfire. But Sonichu has hatched a plan to draw his former best friend out of hiding...a plan involving someone very close to the legendary blue hedgehog. As enemies close in on the PVCC operatives and American soldiers from all sides, Kevin finds himself drawn toward a final stand against the single most dangerous enemy force that he and his friends have ever faced. Threatened with annihilation, the brave men and women of the resistance must endure their greatest challenge yet if they hope to successfully secure an American military presence in the war-ravaged city of CWCville.

The end of the Chaotic Combo is nigh. As the cold reality of Bubbles Rosechu's death at the hands of Clyde Cash sweeps its way across the city, the morale of Sonichu's army has been dealt a hefty blow. With its greatest obstacle removed, the American invasion sweeps unhindered across CWCville Beach while the second wave of troops and armor hits the shore. The tide has turned in favor of the resistance, and as the U.S. military presses forward up the beach, Kevin Shaw and the rest of the Jerkop task force find themselves at a complete tactical advantage for the first time since the dawn of the PVCC. But perhaps their success may not have been entirely unplanned. Across the beach, Sonichu and Sonic continue their duel, but the arrival of a new combatant may throw things into even more chaos than before. And far away, deep within the CWCville Shopping Center, an imprisoned Allie Parker struggles to maintain her sanity itself as Christian Weston Chandler fervently attempts to woo her into being his true and honest Sweetheart from the Ground-Up.
