DarkMatter2525 - Atheist propaganda cartoonist

There was drama between him and an amateur Christian internet "philosopher" known as “The Cartesian Theist”. This took place during 2011 through 2013.

Cartesian Theist was a Christian sperg who pretty much thought that atheistic philosophy hasn't evolved since the days of the Baron d'Holbach and held eccentric philosophical beliefs. He also had a sock puppet army that he used to harass people that disagreed with him. So, the drama can be summed up as two autists sperging at each other regarding their shitty and inept philosophies.
Okay Sperg VS Sperg and neither one wins. I'd call it borderline unless this is a continuing thing.

Trying to bring back focas here. Here are the vids that made me decide he warrents the lolcow status.

Trying too hard much? "Mass murdering psychopath"? Give me a fucking break. Also, I wonder how anyone can say the story of Samson is the exact same as 9/11. How do you come to that conclusion?

Samson? Seriously?

Criticizing the Bible stories for not being terribly realistic or believable is one thing, but Samson was one of the coolest badasses in the Bible and, in general, it was a pretty impressive story. This is just trying way too hard.

I bet this guy will do or has done something trying to call Solomon a dick while not understanding him.

Many web sperg atheists are making the mistake of allowing religion to enter their lives and annoy them.

In my humble view, an atheist should merely say "meh" to any abstract god concepts and just move on.
If you are so insecure about your beliefs that someone else's make you extremely defensive you probably haven't actually thought them out and are either following a herd because you have no thoughts of your own or have crippling autism levels of brand loyalty.

I completely agree - Sadly few on the webs stick to this very sensible path.
Hence, why we have edge-lords and rabid fans aplenty.

This gave me so much cancer.

I don't think criticizing a religion is inherently "euphoric" (and I'm not even an atheist), although looking down on spirituality or religion itself or spiritual or religious people as being automatically and inherently inferior to non-belief seems to be.

For example, this "Religiousil" video by DM2525 looks euphoric:

I've seen this guys stuff before and I usually don't mind it. As I understand it from one of his videos he had a baby that died in hospital or something, maybe that and a religious upbringing made him bitter. That's definitely what he has said in the past.

I think that some of his vidoes criticising religion based on obscure Bible versus with hokey values that people obviously don't aspire to anymore is a little disingenuous but I don't find his stuff that offensive for the most part.

I didn't mind them either but then I was rewatching one and...well...making God and Jesus appear to be incompetent dumbasses while an 'enlightened' character points out all their flaws in a sarcastic and snarky tone...not exactly subtle there DM.

I didn't say that he wasn't "Euphoric" but, if he's telling the truth, if I had a kid who died in hospital and some fag start waxing about a benevolent God I'd tell him to fuck off as-well.

His videos are very on-the-nose, I'll grant that, and always calling God "Yahweh" to point to the religions ancient roots amongst other things comes across as a smidge petty to me. But the guys a YouTube Atheist, what do you expect?

Honestly, as a Brit, the whole idea of militant atheism is alien to me; I just assume that most people I meet don't believe in God and when my boss said he went to Church he had to convince me that wasn't a joke. Religion is so American.

And this is why I made a thread for him. The sheer amount of smug assholary and trying too hard is mind boggling. Like, he needs to just fuck himself, seriously.

Here's another example of his fuckery.

Here's a video from his live-action channel that's pretty fucking autistic.

I've watched and enjoyed some of his content, but he always came across as a bit holier-than-thou to me. Like, he clearly has a limited understanding of the points he's trying to make, and seems to favor a literal interpretation of the Bible. That being said, the Bible does have some stupid shit in it, and he has made a few good points before.

Darkmatter is a smug blowhard whose animation would've been considered shitty circa 2006, but lolcow? Nah. Admittedly, my yardstick for lolcows when it comes to internet atheist youtubers is pretty high and boils down to how closely they measure up to TAA - since, no matter what your political or religious affiliation, I think pretty much everyone can agree that TJ has done some pretty massively fucked up stuff (though people tend to argue about what specific things he's done qualify as shitty). Once you stick a banana up your ass and pour oil on your microdick, everyone else better bring their A(theist) game.

As far as that goes, DM2525 is just some dork who has managed to find an audience so insecure in their (dis)belief that they need shitty flash animations to remind them how smug and superior they think they are. I consider myself an atheist too and have no problem with religious people as long as they don't shove it down my throat, and extend them that same courtesy but the minute I need animation that makes Homestar Runner look like golden age Disney is the minute I might have to reconsider that there might be something to this whole "god thing" after all.

I'll probably get bad ratings for this, but oh well:

If the story about him being raised in a religious family and losing a child is true, then I really don't think he is much of a lolcow.
When you are raised with the belief that all good and bad things are caused by immortal beings that give and take away things at their whims, and that you can 'protect' yourself from the bad things by praying to the 'good' immortal being, losing a loved one from anything but old age is a difficult thing to rationalize. After all, wasn't God supposed to protect them? Were their prayers not good enough? Did they die as a punishment for a surviving family member? Especially a child...I can understand his anger. I wouldn't worship someone who killed a person I loved either.
