Yakuza was one of the games kat played on the chaos realm channel so I've always wondered if phil's obsession with those games comes from that. Maybe when phil first started talking to her he watched her yakuza videos and they bonded over talking about those games.

Other than that I really don't get it. The yakuza games are long and boring, he falls asleep during them and they get low views and money, but he autistically plays them all to the very end. Any other series would have been ragequit after 1 stream if they received the same results as the yakuza games, but he doesn't ever threaten to quit them.

Also when he brought the fat verison of kat back to the streams, it was to play a yakuza game.

Maybe this is all a coincidence but I don't really believe in coincidences so I suspect phil and kat have some autisitc, sentimental attachment to the yakuza games and it's one of the very few common interests they share.
You're probably right. Kat is a huge weeb. It's strange how she claimed to not like anime and j-pop in those return streams when she had previously stated to like those things.

It's funny to imagine Phil treated his relationship the same way as learning that port for Super Turbo at Evo. He spent one weekend studying her channel for exploits and spammed it enough to get a 4th place marriage then refuses to learn anything else or put in more effort for the rest of his life. I wish he'd treat her more like Street Fighter, talk about her cooking the same thing all the time as pattern-play potatoes (yes, we can call it a Triple P) or calling her a scrub for using premade frozen meals. But then he can defend her once in awhile and insult all other women as "modern wives who don't know how to be in a marriage like Super Turbo Khet."

or all anyone knows DSP is probably using the Kick income (which I believe comes once a month) as disposable income just like tip money.
It came once a week, which is why he hates Kick chat now and would always forgive them before. He became spoiled by that big weekly check from weirdos trying to impress the casino by whaling out.
On the subject of games Phil likes, I think on top of RPGs from when he was a piglet, he also likes anything easy or anything that makes money. He liked the worst Animal Crossing, that gay Disney game, and even Inzoi until he died from being a toxic pigroach. He likes little girl games. He should play Hello Kitty Island Adventure next.

He was begging for money via PayPal because “he can get it right away” and could “pay for groceries and bills” back in June of last year (before KC). Let’s see if he reverts back to that.

It's going to be hilarious to hear what he has to say today. Yesterday when I tuned in he was telling his audience how he is well off now, finally has extra money to fix his house up (sure phil), and it's okay for him to buy "frivalous" things because he has extra money!

The whiplash day-to-day, is insane.

He played Yakuza even back in Connecticut, years before Kat even interacted with him. The first one he played was Yakuza: Dead Souls, which is the worst spin-off in the series.

It basically boils down to those games having plenty of story and being relatively easy. You can brute-force them with button mashing for the most part unless you try to go for 100% or explore the combat system, both of which he never did.

In the one game he tried (Y7), which is the easiest one to do a completionist run, he couldn’t go any further than the 2nd floor of the final dungeon, and turn-based JRPGs are supposed to be one of his favorite genres.

He never fought the strongest, secret bosses in any of these games (Amon), except for the watered-down version of said boss in Y7. I’d almost pay to see Phil fight one of those bosses, they can get ridiculously difficult if you’re unprepared and don’t grasp what the combat system can offer.

Tl;dr: Yakuza is a series with a strong focus on narrative (plenty of time for LIMBs and begs), and you can get away with button-mashing for the most part, so it’s perfect for braindead gameplay slop.

Hope everyone enjoyed the double trouble today. This is a sample of what every day is gonna be like once this kino arc finally cools off. He's still got another month or 2 of these whales pouring money before we reach today levels everyday.
Its the declining views that's the real problem for him long term. All the money still coming in is masking this for now but a lot of his recent streams don't even have 200 viewers, some night streams have below 100 at times. The amount of people interested in his stuff, either unironic fans or trolls, is dropping rapidly. The amount of money per viewer he's getting is ridiculously high. How long will whales want to keep whaling out on streams with 100 viewers? He's so short-sighted he can't see his channel is dying in front of him.

The real kicker is that Raw Phil still gets like 500 viewers minimum for even the most boring streams. The audience is there, they just hate Phil. Chantal has this same problem, other fat women restream her shit and make bank because she is as ban happy as Phil and has declared that she doesn't want anyone who watches her detractors to intrude her hugbox. It's extremely similar actually.

If you had to pick one thing about 2025 DSP that you hate the most, what would it be?

For me it's the acting like his "rewards" are rewards for his viewers and not him. Hit the goals and you get rewarded by him ordering fast food slop! Oh, and remember you still have to give him money on his streams that are supposedly rewards for his community!

Trying to adopt the felting bullshit, the king bullshit and also the way he treated KC and is now running around trying to pump and dump other khantent creators like Ralph. And also blowing his 2nd chance (1st chance was the bankruptcy) by blowing through the $30-40k USD extra he got from being around KC that he spent on nothing and didn't fix his house or do fucking anything.

(I'm retarded and can't count so that is all one thing if anyone asks)

Reminder, this is his fault.
He destroyed the pacing of the game by avoiding the main "story advancement and progression" by doing every sidequest imagineable.
What happens now is that he's overleveled a shit ton and deletes enemies after he goes from cutscene to cutscene.

I don't even think he knows what's going on with the story anymore.

The whole stupid King’s Tax bullshit. Especially the animation and fanfare but especially when he lets the shit play for minutes at a stretch while he acts like $50 has pulled his entire life out of the gutter.

Yes, I know it’s made and he does it to be obnoxious, that’s why I hate it. It works.

I think the boring cutscenes are a good breakup from the boring gameplay where he spams the same moves over and over. If DSP played Pokemon Yellow he'd use Pikachu->Thunderbolt 95% of the time (and would ragequit the first ground-type trainer).
Maybe if DSP didn't read out every single non-voiced dialogue like his audience is illiterate he could've finished it by now.
HowLongToBeat estimates 17.5 hours to complete the main story alone.

"Upgrading his setup" while still using a completely retarded setup for his OBS monitor and keyboard. Buy an actual work desk DSP!

Edit: Because I had a further thought. He can really only be making less than he posts on his stream because now he counts everything. Even shit that has fees taken out. The only way it can be more is if he is flat out hiding money he gets in. And I just doubt that in a world where he keeps crying about goals and momentum.
He only counts new members and not recurring ones. Not an insane amount of money but I'd guess it's at least a grand or so per month that isn't counted. Maybe it's more, he has a lot of ultra members. He's still getting adsense as well.
