So tonight dave said he was considering getting a tattoo across his back when he was younger. Anyone care to speculate what it would've said?

I was thinking maybe "pimp slapin 11 year old girls since 1982" or "straight outa Connecticut, ya know the state that ranks 45th worst for violent crime" or "hot Latina girls grind on this" or maybe "DSP and rambo, best friends forever"

(That's true btw, the ghetto dave is from, that he talks about like it was the hood, ranks as the 5th safest state in the country based on violent crime and property crime rates)
I know what tattoo he needs to get: Born to Whine

Any truly lazy person would spend a few hours (if that) setting up an automated top donation / latest subscriber / top cheer stream overlay, but instead Phil decides it's "easier" to continuously stop all gameplay to manually type out names and manually adjust the formatting to fit character overflow.

Yeah, it would save him a ton of time in the long term but what about what really matters to him, the short term? That's at least 5 minutes of short term layaround time that it would eat into.

I seriously doubt that he told them to take him to court over it, he most likely is shitting his pants over that they will and all the money he would lose on it!

I absolutely believe he did say something like that. Phil is a fake tough guy, he talks a ton of shit when he doesn't expect someone to respond. See: Viscant, Jaha, Machinima.

It was already dead.

NANI?!

He have also claimed that YT stands for 50% of his income...
When you take into account his decade's worth of shitpost trash, he's probably not far wrong. His new videos barely make anything though which is why he's effectively holding them to ransom. Sega needs to STEP UP, dood!

Nah, unless his actual realized CPM is way above $2, he's not making more than $2k on youtube at this point. Twitch far exceeds it.

Absolutely. Little does Sega know, Dave is a transformative artist. He takes the rough shape which is the game*1 and creates a new exciting product through his highly professional improvised commentary*2 and unique, to him as the player, button inputs*3.

*1 - Which is in fact highly designed by up to hundreds of real artists, programmers, level designers, character designers, story writers, project coordinators, team managers, voice actors, concept artists, quality control and so on.

*2 - Which is in fact absolutely horrible, lazy and rarely qualifies as commentary, he adds absolutely nothing new to the game. This garbage can be done by absolutely anyone without any care, which is in fact already the case. The game in itself can only be done by one entity: Sega.

*3 - And by that I mean he plays 100% in the boundaries set by the developers, except he plays really really bad. However he plays uniquely bad.

How does Vince3Ho know how the "alleged party" spelled its name?

If this is a suspicious copyright, it could have a precedent. A similar thing happened July of last year with a bunch of supposed Rockstar/Take Two strikes. IIRC it happened right around a weekend or a staycation, and he proceeded to make bank during a Reemergency stream.
Yes, the false Rockstar strikes were July last year, produced $800+ in tips when he cried about it on the next informal prestream... it was cleared up within days and AFAIK his channel was still monetized, so it only cost him whatever ad revenue he would've earned on those Rockstar playthrough videos for those few days.

DSP added all the videos to the Fist of the North Star playlist and didn't bother/couldn't add custom thumbnails, so people watching on the playlist can see them. 14-18 were from yesterday's stream, only 16 is visible on the channel as a new video. I included a screencap of the latest 24 videos so you can see part 13 was earlier this week.

There was also a tweet retweeted by SpiritAvenged where someone else shows the "sega" block on part 15.

Finally I went to check all 5 videos, part 16 is up as you'd expect, part 14/15/17/18 all show the same "sega" block. Archived the blocked video pages in the unsurprising event this gets cleared up in the future:

One final check, DSP has pulled the VoD from Twitch already, which makes sense with his 'my contract says I can't monetize the same video on more than one platform at once and my detractors will report me for that!' logic... except he did leave that sponsored Assassin's Creed Odyssey stream up as both a highlight and the VoD, which AFAIK he did upload to YouTube as part of his playthrough.

I wouldn't be surprised if these were false EDIT: claims, not strikes since they're just blocked like Rockstar, but it's also not without precedent for Sega to go EDIT: heavy. There was the time where they 'cleaned up YouTube' by striking various Shining franchise videos including TotalBiscuit before a new Shining game video. DSP personally had the Binary Domain strike during the December 2013 ContentID fiasco vlog series, where an ending video got an outright strike rather than a ContentID claim.

If anyone wants to watch DSP ranting & raving about ContentID and the methods he desperately searched out to 'fix' his lost income, that playlist is a gold mine. Looking in from the outside, it seems someone had enough & gave DSP his precious managed partnership with Machinima, exempting him from future ContentID claims until after he 'left' Machinima in March 2017. He said he'd keep talking about the issue... but there's just one more vlog on December 21st and then he stopped this vlog series, his personal issues over, screw the rest of you (e.g. DSP later namedropped that Maximilian Dood didn't get a managed partnership from his MCN back in December 2013).

I was hoping to show a screencap of the blocked by X message, but DSP doesn't click into it on this entire 16 minute video, and starts talking about it from 6:40 onwards (before it seems to be about music claims on other videos). Not embedded because this is on DSPGaming, he might get ad revenue etc.: https://youtu.be/91A36neoaDo?t=400

EDIT: Also after watching a little of those vlog videos, it seems DSP had a ContentID claim on that Binary Domain video, after countering it Sega just fired off a copyright strike, and he claims it happened to other people countering them during the December 2013 ContentID fiasco. So it wasn't a strike first.

But it is allowed. As a Twitch partner you are simply not allowed to upload your footage in the next 24 hours after the stream. And I'm super certain Dave knows this, as he is highly aware of a lot of shitty things he does, but he has to do it or else his "business" fails.

Annoy his audience with two dozen videos a day? He knew nobody liked that, but the money. Annoy the audience with talk about taxes? He knew it was annoying, but the money.

This is the very same, he has to up his videos ASAP or else he won't get the money 1 day earlier. He can also set the amount of ads (way too many ads) and can be sure the videos actually work, therefore the money.

Don't get me wrong. I do think he does a lot of shady stuff on purpose and thinks he is in the right by doing it. But I also think the most stupid shit he does is just the result of having a shitty personality.

You reminded me of the 24 hour delay concept. I think it's just a Twitch affiliate deal, Twitch partners have something else.

Perhaps this 'not monetized in 2 places simultaneously' is true for partners, I've no idea if similar contract details are public somewhere. Twitch/most people don't care... except DSP's detractors would try to call him out on that. Is it paranoid to think that would break his Twitch partner contract? Sure, but it's the sort of insane thing that could hit him.

So, he said he was in contact with Sega and they claim there is no reason that his videos should be flagged. There was something said about Sega of Japan flagging JAPANESE versions of the game, but he seemed rather cordial about the dispute, as if it’s going to just disappear (which based on his track record, it will).

However, he’s still using this as an excuse for holding the rest of the playthrough hostage, even though not even 24 hours ago he said he was placing the rest of the playthrough on the back burner (aka never touching it again) anyway. Why he feels the need to do his patented Mental Gymnastics despite being contradictory of shit he said less than a day ago is beyond me. :autism: I guess.
