not sure if this is true but DSP said today all those charity donations go right into his pocket. He said twitch matches the donations and he pockets the money cause he has no obligation to donate it.

Doubt it, otherwise Twitch would have to deal with a lot of 'runaways' trying to game that system. I think he's trying to encourage more people to give more money to him and downplay the charity feature at the same time.

What happens is Twitch donates $2 for every 1000 bits cheered - so every $10. It doesn't come out of the bits or anything so Phil still gets all of his pitybux, and Twitch donates automatically so he doesn't need to do anything on his end.

Edit: Fixed words

Yeah Phil is definitely on board for the whole #charitybits schtick, but as far as doing a stream for charity? Mrhuth got us covered on that topic

Just another example of Phil's extreme shortsightedness. He could easily get some sympathy points by doing a stream or two dedicated solely to charity, but he'd rather explicitly shoot that suggestion down cuz he's always sperging about the bills. Same Phil different day.

edit: I just noticed the 3rd picture on that thumbnail, it screams "I neeeeeed more support you guys m'kay"

WiPshit recap, so you don't have to watch it:

Monday: Destiny 2 / Knack 2
Tuesday: No stream.
Wednesday: Destiny 2 / Knack 2 OR Mario + Rabbids
Thursday: Destiny 2 / Mario + Rabbids
Friday: Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
Saturday: Dishonored: DotO / Destiny 2 OR Mario + Rabbids
September's Patreon goal is the Halloween goal again.
Tuesday's day off is so that Phil can power-wash his driveway.
He may make a review for Knack 2, and plans to make a video with DSPGaming's demonetized videos to crowdsource a reason why they're flagged.
Yakuza Kiwami is officially on hold.
A new DSP Tries It comes out this weekend again. KOGaming is still dead. Phil claims it's illegal.
Phil may be taking several days off in the first week of October.

On his schedule yesterday he said HE would use Tuesday to figure out what videos Youtube flags. Good to see he has already given up and turned it into another "we" problem. Just like the charity thing when he said he was pushing the hashtag so WE can do our part when it is the fan using the hashtag and Twitch giving the money, Phil is not even in the equation. At this point some of his fans probably did invest enough money to have an actual stake in Dsp staying around even though it has never been enough.

A side not. The SOK had 3k followers. Without them that is 3k people possibly moving on or ignoring DSP. For a dying channel that is not good. Trolls suck but DSP needs all the attention he can get.

That assumes those 3K people only follow the SoK channel and nothing else pro- or anti-DSP.

@ChickenSkinBeanbag summed it up already, but just wanted to add how slimy Phil always is about this. He's literally using charity to his own gain. He's pushing the narrative that you should give him more bits because that means more money will go to charity, and the best part about it is that he still gets his full cut of the bits! It's so gross, and he always finds a way to give me douche chills.

It's surprising how Phil is actually one of the least manipulative people on Twitch when it comes to using this for his own gain. He's still trying to exploit it, but he's so stupidly blunt that he's not going to change any minds. Successful people push the charity aspect of it as the main point and gloss over the part about them still getting the full cheer amount because (surprise!) mentioning that sounds needy and desperate, but Phil is the biggest charity on Twitch in the GDQ off-season.

Still plans to make it on Tuesday.

I love how much Phil acts like a sitcom dad. He's treating the demonetization like Homer Simpson trying to fix a tv. Phil's the man of the house so he's going to solve the difficult algorithm issues that we're too stupid to understand.

I once saw a stream where a guy was accepting donations and he set it up so donations above like $50 would go toward a charity (money went to him and he promised he would forward it on.) As you might expect, a lot of the donations he got were not over $50. I believe he raised about $3K for the charity and about $2K for himself. He didn't normally get anywhere close to $2K a stream so I'm pretty sure he got that much because people were confused about what went to the charity and what did not. I really have no idea if it was intentional or if he donated some his portion money to the charity in response to the large amount.

So I noticed the image on his layout didn't go to the sides of the screen. Thought it was lazy but whatever, nothing new. Then I saw movement and realized that his fucking webcam is on the screen behind the image. Thankfully DSP was sitting down and most likely not scratching his leg.

I suspect that since the arch enemy is no longer around as a viable entity to blame for every current misfortune, the pity bucks that once went to DSP are never coming back. "Aww Phil, it sucks those bastards are doing this to you. Here's $100 to wipe your tears."
It's all on DSP now. There of course will be random trolling, the guy invites it with his words and deeds, but the future of his Patreon and stream numbers are solely in his hands.
We're heading south of $800 soon. I can feel it.

Bwahahaha, Patreon still at $859. Seems like the paypigs are near the fatigue point. I remember what happened to Spoony after he crossed the threshold of $1k.

And considering BSV didn't save the day that month he seems to have some limit on his dosh. He's going to shift blame on the Halloween stream being a shit idea, even though every streamer and their dog will be doing Halloween special streams for free and giving actual extras on Patreon thresholds if they have them. This guy is just going accelerate it- he's gotten multiple $100+ donatations through Twich so far, but he's still going to whine about the low Patreon jeopardizing the bills again.
