Hoping Manhunt wins the poll then. Apparently he'll play Sunshine, but in 2018.

He can barely monetize anything anymore, why would that even matter?

True but Nintendo has always been on his shit list since the wiiu temper tantrum a few years back. It just makes me wonder why he even bothers with Nintendo play throughs at all being a greedy fuck.

And echoing RIP above, manhunt would be hilarious. Manhunt is a hard game and will test his patience. You would call his office a salt mine after that play through.

That may change knowing him. He probably throw a hissy fit near the time, not enough viewer engagement, monetization etc. etc. Wasn't he suppose to play Bloodborne around the same time?

Him and his gaming polls. His fans should learn by now no matter what game you vote, he would try and weasel his way out of it and come up with some bullshit reasoning to why he's playing or not playing the game.

I just don't understand it. Why even put a Mario game on the poll if he absolutely doesn't want to do a Mario game (because Nintendo and "muh monetization" more than too much Mario for his fans)? It's like he put it in hoping that it would win and he could move the goalposts. This goes beyond normal idiocy and into this weird, almost masochistic self-loathing.

Or he's just a goddamn idiot.

Okay, now this is a fucking bitch move.
Once again he's spitting in the face of his viewers. "I know you all voted for Mario but I won't play it at the agreed time I'll delay it ack ack ack" I can't wait to see the drop in patrons from this. I mean he really just puts himself in these situations. I have never seen a man shoot himself in the foot as many times as Phil.

He already said he was playing odisy day one so he is screwed either way.

Also, he would only make $2,500 if every one of those views were on videos that were monetized AND ads played. Factoring in content ID claims, demonetization, ad block, smart phones, etc he gets WAY less than that.

Those factors have no impact on the numbers provided by YouTube or people with experience making money off YouTube ads. YouTube does not show a single YouTuber what they'd make if it weren't for unmonetized videos, ads that weren't played, ad block, mobile systems. They only show actual revenue divided by actual views.

Phil's rippin' pissed dumbass patrons still can't stop choosing games in Patron's Choice.

BTW can someone confirm whether or not Phil was so dumb he actually put Mario Sunshine as an option in the first place when he didn't want it to win because that would be even more hilarious.

he obviously just wants to triple dip and is playing the victim to do it. patreon and twitch money isn't enough for him to play the game. he needs to know the playthrough will be monetized for pennies on youtube and then it's ok for his patrons to pick it. why even bother with the goals anymore? he now has a reputation as someone who doesn't honor his patreon goals at all, but just wants that extra patreon money to play whatever games he will make the most money playing anyway.

I have never seen a YT or Twitch streamer bitch so fucking much about money. Most of the time I hear it is when people are just starting patreons/super chats/getting demonitized and that's about it. How the fuck do people stand this shit? If polls are causing you this much grief because god fucking forbid you have to play something people want to see, maybe don't do fucking polls. Jesus, its whine whine whine with him, I can't even imagine watching a stream or a video of his.

This is one of my favorite cow traits about Phil. He is the one who created the poll. That means, he purposefully chose a game that he did not want to play, so much so that he wrote a long ass post about it. But in classic Phil fashion, he completely spins it around and accepts no responsibility and places the blame on his viewers instead of just admitting that he shouldn't have put it on the poll in the first place. And then the cherry on top is that this is something the paypigs have to contribute towards to even get a vote in the first place, so he's shooting himself right in the gout infested foot by pushing the blame onto the same people he'll be begging from in his next video. And all of this could have been avoided with the simplistic logic of "don't put shit you don't want to play on the poll." But truly, the absolute best part is that this isn't the first time Phil has gone through this exact same situation. Hell, it isn't even the second time.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this is why people don't need to bother trolling Phil. There is nothing a troll can do that comes even close to the own trolling that Phil constantly inflicts on himself.

Explain it to me further cause I'm still not getting it. If socialblade shows him getting 2 million views on dspgaming in a month & his cpm is $1.25 your saying that his income is 2,000,000 ÷ 1,000 × 1.25? Otherwise, I don't understand where you're getting the $2,500 from.

I'm really amused by the Mario Sunshine whining because DSP's been an idiot: he CAN'T capture Mario Sunshine & thus he will dump it from the Patrons' Choice. He clearly did no research into making the poll & just added everything with 3+ nominations (plus apparently shoved in Night in the Woods on his own whims with only 2 nominations?).

Since Super Mario Sunshine was only on GameCube, there are four ways to play it:
  1. GameCube. DSP doesn't have a GameCube.
  2. Wii. This would work, except the Wii doesn't have HDMI out, DSP doesn't have any composite or component to HDMI adaptors, and he admits his last component capture device broke or was gotten rid of. This was a bad idea because he could have used this for PS3 stuff too and avoided all the HDCP complications (e.g. Final Fantasy X 'the video went out!')
  3. WiiU. Unofficially you can hack the vWii side & run GameCube ISOs from USB or SD storage. DSP is not going to do this.
  4. PC emulation via Dolphin. Sunshine apparently runs great on Dolphin, but DSP's incompetent recording setup means the fairly intensive emulation will not record smoothly.
No, there have been no WiiU 'Virtual Console' GameCube releases. Metroid Prime 1 in 2015 he played via the WiiU digital download of the Wii Metroid Prime Trilogy collection. So all this whining was for naught and it's likely too late to change the poll & have all the Sunshine voters pick something else. This weekend statement will likely be in the Week in Preview & he'll announce he can play it for January downtime, only to fuck himself over then too. Heaven forbid he spends $100 or less on a component capture device.

Also regarding views, I can't believe all up to 2 million (DSPGaming hasn't even had 2 million views since June when you add back the privated Persona 5 views it's ~2.02mn, July 1.92mn August 1.85mn) views are monetized. This also makes me suspect DSP's hints at how much YT income he gets, since July's Twitch income was under yet August's Twitch income was higher than YT implies he gets over $3K but likely not even $3.5K/month for July & August YT ad revenue. So for August's 1.85mn to be all monetized views and to come to ~$3.5K would mean a CPM of almost $1.90. I thought since adpocalypse $1 CPM was high, and DSP's CPM would have to be higher when they're not all monetized... he's easily getting $2+ CPM not including Curse or Google's cut? I highly doubt it.

Also taking a look at the current SocialBlade numbers for September, 13 days are in so far:
upload_2017-9-14_9-2-37.png

Quickly adding that up totals 646,181 views in 13 days, or a ~49.7K daily average (hurt badly by that latest 44K & a couple sub 50K days) which multiplies out for a 30 day September month to a pitiful ~1.49mn views, way down on August's 1.85mn - 20% down in fact. DSP better hope match spam for MvCI and the Patrons' Choice playthrough do well, because this is looking terrible. This would become his worst month ever, with February 2017 being the previous worst at 1.63mn.
