You'd think losing ~$1500.00/month in mortgage payments would allow him to hire a kid to do it for $10-20. How much snow removal are you responsible for in a condo anyway? Certainly the association takes care of common areas.

I reckon that he just likes the big house and the tax savings from writing off the office.

Yeah I don't see what snow he'd have to remove. It's not like he had a driveway or garage door area to clear, he didn't have a sidewalk as far as I know because it was a shared entrance, and I can't think of anything else.

If he could find some way to use the CT condo for income generating activity (whether leasing it for $1250 a month or just throwing a computer in it and Bitcoin mining for $0.08 a month or something in between) he could legitimately write off 100% of the mortgage, taxes, fees, and insurance. I assume he has never once considered that. He would save an insane amount of money if he did ANYTHING with it.

I just find it Sooo fucking funny that whatever the case may be if he has to pay off some super important debt. His patreon money is no longer "my money to do what I want with it" it's now not his and must go to pay something off. So no more frozen pizza now he's gotta eat ramen noodles like the rest of the really poor or budgeting people.

From what I got from the latest whinefest, the big scary Train at the end of the tunnel if everything goes to shit is having to move out of his family sized mcMansion into an apartment........Isn't this something that would be a good idea regardless of whatever he claims is hovering over him?
Yeah but if he tells it like that he's not gonna get any sympathy or extra pitybux.

but didn't people used to say that by common laws, Leanna would have the right to some of Phil's property and income since she lived with him for a certain amount of years? Could this issue be linked to Leanna seeking legal advice on the situation? It's a long shot but it's more likely than the whole pregnancy idea.

But wouldn't that also make her liable for some of his debt?

He blocked someone on Twitter who asked if he was getting sued for palimoni by pandalee

That does bring up a thought. What if Leanna is on the mortgage and she tells him (perhaps through a lawyer or even a lawsuit) that she wants to sell and take her half of the equity because: 1.) She wants what she is owed 2.) She does not want to be responsible should Phil stop paying (and she would be, I assume). So the notice says he either he refinances in his own name and pays her half the estimated profit from a sale or she will force him to sell and split the proceeds directly.

That's the general theory I'm going with. No more IRS for me.

@grump said it better than I could but he's not going to say 'it's nothing to do with the IRS auditing me,' and then say a few days later 'I lied to you all and it is to do with the IRS auditing me.'

He never says it's not an IRS audit, all he explicitly says is that it's not a shell company.
He does say it's not anything else in the thread, but I can't read the thread here at work so it may or may not include audit theories but he can easily say "I missed that" if it turns out to be true.

Now this is a decent theory. He only complains about losing the house and I can 100% see Leanna being on the house title.
Sales of homes are public record, can someone find out if her name is on the title?

Regardless of what is happening, DSP continues to get fucked and it's very menty.

I really don't care to know how he's getting screwed over but his begging videos are getting worse. Now it's just down to a pity party for poor fuck boi Phil. This is why people tell him to find gainful employment and for him to sell his retarded ass "adult house".

I can’t speak to Connecticut, but in more the case than not, if you own a condo you pay a monthly maintenance fee (bundled in your monthly payments). This fee covers snow, recycle and trash removal. This fee covers maintenance inside the unit, building or apartment. This fee covers yard and lawn care, and in the case of fire damage or an emergency, acts as renter’s insurance. The fact he couldn’t move/sell it tells me he more than likely left the place media res (still owing on the loan or making monthly payment). The fact he couldn’t find a renter or buyer means the place is in a shitty location.

You could be right, but wait a minute, wasn't there a theory that Leanna's name is on his Adsense because he couldn't open up another account?
That theory says that she has to effectively pay him the money he earns on Youtube - maybe she's pulling the rug out?

Let's forget the AdSense theory, that was some baseless speculation with not a hint of evidence behind it. It was a Skip Bayless style talking point for a 7 hour long podcast that needed talking points.

Right, and it just happened, so you wouldn't have received a notice about it that could potentially ruin your life. There wouldn't even have been time for someone to take his information and do anything with it.

The IRS thing makes the most sense. If you've been there, getting a letter that you're being audited is scary. You know even if you did nothing wrong that you've got a lot of work ahead of you to document everything---and this is Phil, so you wonder how shady his bookkeeping is, accountant or not (you have to give the accountant the right information to use, not hide income, etc.).

TBH, the fact he has an actual accounting attorney who signs off on his tax returns means he has at least had the sense to use a proper accountant.
Because of that, I find it pretty unlikely that he is being audited.

Especially as in the grand scheme of things he is not wealthy, and barely has any assets (that are actually fully paid off). People reporting him to the IRS or not, the accountant probably makes the IRS not that bothered to go after him (unless his accountant has a history of bad returns, which is unlikely)

Washington state doesn't support common law marriage, by the way.

Maybe not common law marriage, but it is a state that has palimony laws:

Goodness, I learn so much by researching stuff that surrounds Phil. It's an otherwise pointless hobby, but there is stuff I pick up every day which is really interesting:

Yeah, I was thinking that Leanna would be happy to be rid of DSP and his world, which is why I thought it unlikely that she would ever go after him legally.

But given that she may be responsible for some of the debt/mortgage or whatever, it would make sense.

Umm... what?
Even when we have concrete evidence, he still lies about it. .. because thats what he is.

Fallout4 - wedding, changing patreon goal... just from the top of my head.

Not to mention the jerking off incident. Several people in his chat told him his cam was on and he was caught and he denied it and banned anyone that mentioned it until he realized clips of the video came out.

Oh hey neat, I didn't know that!

Hmmm. It does give slightly more weight to this theory, especially if you assume that Leanna just recently met someone who knew about it and suggested she pursue it. And DSP saying "I'm not being sued" so specifically waa a little bit suspicious. No one accused him of being sued at that point, so why bring up that and nothing else?
