Can someone explain "sausage mode" to me? I just don't get it but I hear it all the time.
Not 100% sure, this is just how I interpret the meme.

Phil is a pig. He sits on his couch just staring at the television, hands off the controller, not talking to chat, not giving commentary. He's just a piece of pig meat wrapped in skin sitting there. Pig meat wrapped in skin is a sausage.

Its when DSP lays back into his love seat and checks out of the game

I don't think we've talked about this one yet. The light fixture saga.

"I don't have a ceiling light in this room. There is a ceiling light but it's terrible."

Phil has a ceiling light in his office that has three light bulbs. One of the light bulbs has been burned out for years. Another one burned out at an unspecified time. Only one bulb works.

Instead of changing the light bulbs, he says the light has faulty wiring. I'm no electrician, but wouldn't the light just not work at all if it was a wiring issue? One bulb never worked. The second stopped working. The third still works. Sounds to me like the appliance is getting power just fine.

Phil thinks the only way to remedy this situation is to install an entire new light fixture.

I didn't see anyone bring it up in the prestream talk, but there is one egregious element of the prestream that demonstrates Phil's real aims with his prestream, and demonstrates his signature 'beggar creep' tactic - the 20 minute bathroom break at the end of it.

This started earlier this year where Phil would occasionally take a bathroom break at the end of prestream. It was usually an emergency that crept up on him. Of course, the truth was that it was a stall tactic that Phil would bust out when he either was lower than usual on contributions before starting gameplay, OR he had extra viewers. It was like clockwork.

At some point in the fall, Phil started doing this religiously, and the length of the break has been creeping longer and longer to the point that we've hit 20 minutes. Unlike his stream breaks, he doesn't even bother to play music - it's just a straight dead air after over an hour of talking without gameplay.

But it's less than an hour into the stream - if Phil pissed before the stream, there is no way he should have to go again unless he has incontinence issues (possible). He also used to make it quick and is now obviously dragging it out with the aim of baiting a few more tips. Somehow, this moved from 'sometimes' to 'it's time for my bathroom break' without anyone really calling out this obvious stall tactic. I have NEVER seen another streamer do this outside of an emergency, and when people complain about the long prestreams, he has built in a 20 minute stall that he could easily rectify if he just went before the stream. But if you bring it up, I'm sure it's because you want his bladder to explode and him to SUFFER, but he's just a HUMAN and his fans understand, just like a battered wife.

But it's just like the whoreboard that was never supposed to be present for new or narrative-based games. And then suddenly, one day... it just never left. Or the tip 'goals' that were never allowed to be for nothing... and then suddenly became a stream-specific target explicitly for nothing. The beg creep is real.

Both this and Sparkletor's post regarding the lights in the room with his PC in it, I'm sorry, his "office", highlight just any possible way that DSP is trying to suckle up pennies from those paypigs. You know for a fucking fact that when he's there he's checking his paypal to see if a whale came through recently and gave him a big Khantrabution (not mandatory btw). And if you mention either of these issues in his chat, you're a detractor and a troll and a stalker. Reminds me of recently when the guy with the best username, Bigsloppymeat, asked Phil how far into his financials can they ask about before he would reply with not at all and lightly insulted him. It's not like he brings it up every single day and literally begs for money to buy groceries. Totally not his fault, man.

When it comes down to it, it just seems to me like this fat little sausage is trying to milk as hard as he can while also begging for a whale to come on his bathroom break that is for some reason 20 mins. I get why most people do it, but you have a fucking audience waiting for you and you can't even give them music.

I'll point out that it IS possible that poor wiring or other issues within a fixture could cause one socket in a fixture to blow out bulbs faster. I had one in my house that would consistently burn out bulbs in the same socket. That said, if you don't replace the bulbs, you have no idea whether it's the fixture or not. And you're right that if any of the bulbs light up, it's probably not the main wiring to the fixture that's a problem.

...though of course if the wiring IS an issue, that means there's sparking or some shit that could happen and Phil's letting a fire hazard just chill out in his ceiling. Genius.

And it's so predictable when the long bathroom break is coming. It's one of my favorite Tevin bits.

I think it's very telling that Phil seems to think he gets more donations during his pre-stream (specifically when he is not even on camera and there is no sound) than when he is ostensibly entertaining his audience.

Cause he knows deep down that he's not entertaining or remotely enjoyable to watch, and most of his "fans" and viewers don't come for his gameplay.

It is possible that it is a wiring problem with the light, but I doubt he has even tried to change the bulb to see.

It's like the hole in the bucket song.

The light bulb burned out. Then change it. But how do I reach it? Use a ladder. Where is the ladder? In the garage. But the garage is too cold! Wear some slippers. My slippers are too old! Buy new ones. But I don't have the money! Than stream. But I can't stream because the light is burnt out! Than change the bulb. But how do I reach it...

So, essentially, his "bathroom break" is like his weekly "grocery shopping" trip.
It probably involves what it says on the tin, but it's only a fraction of the time allotted for said activity.
He just uses those phrases for the sake of brevity I guess, because calling it his weekly "grocery shopping, department store shopping, restaurant eating, space needle visiting, spending all muh non-disposable income" trip just doesn't roll off the tongue as well.

When searching to see if Phil had asked for tips specifically for groceries anymore, I did find this gem (all credit to pigpiggo...seriously incredible):

"The grocery store is across the street." An exaggeration, for sure, but we know it's close by. He could easily hit the grocery store in the morning or between streams, but he has to make it sound like a big production now to justify "MUH ENTIRE DAY OUT BUSY BUSY BUSY".

He's also been referencing tips paying for groceries before now:

According to Google maps, Fred Meyer is 0.6 miles away

A quick search on the keywords easily gives us some good idea of what GROCERIES means to Phil:

1. He usually grocery shopping in the evening, at least after 6PM, and usually after dinner

2. He leaves it to the midnight of the day before his grocery day to make a shopping list because he is lazy

3. He is awkward as fuck when the grocery clerk tries to socialize with him by asking the weather.........

I remember someone posted a bird's eye view of the route from dave's house to their local mall, it's probably 20 seconds away in a car

Yet he acts like every day off from "work" to go shopping with his maid is akin to an ancient Greek epic poem.

[big sigh] long exhausting day running around doing errands man!
